Actually I think the OP originally asked should they keep their already paid off V6 and supercharge or trade up and buy a GT! Certainty if ones goal is to knowingly get rid of it in two years, highly foolish to drop 6k on a supercharger and tune. You don't mod your car and think that's gonna increase the value. Complete opposite, so mod because one wants those mods and not about resell value.

I always laugh when people talk about resell values down the road and they want to drop thousands in mods but concerned about resell value. Yes, a 5.0 is gonna have a higher resell value over a 3.7 but the 5.0 costs more to begin with so it works out to be the same. My 3.7 resell will be less but I paid far less for it.

That's awesome you had the cash however how amazing what you could of built your 3.7 into had you taken that 14k cash and mod your V6. That was just my point of view to the others. Even half of 14k could of turned your V6 into a 450 rwhp reliable DD pony.

I had called the shops around san antonio for quotes and with parts and labor I would of been well above 14k for what you're talking about. Either way I was going to spend the money. So I just chose the V8 as my new platform. I can tell you right now I don't regret the decision. I already have CAI, Exhaust, and X-pipes on the way
Well that's awesome bro. You have a beautiful car and its totally bad a$$. Just a friendly debate. Clearly 14k doesn't get you much in San Antonio TX. I guess if one is fortunate to have help on install stuff, it's far cheaper. A supercharger, install of it and dyno tune around my way runs 6,500k for everything. Forging the engine can't be more than 3,000k with the install. That's 9,500k. That leaves me with 4,500k for other mods. For 4,500 I can upgrade braking system, suspension parts, tires, driveshaft, gears, etc.

One could easily build a 650 rwhp reliable DD V6 on the 3.7 engine platform and the car still wouldn't cost more than 40k total. Heck, I only paid 24k out the door with tax and tags for my 3.7.

You will be up to 600 rwhp in no time with a SC for the 5.0.,
