Traction control off, but still seems to activate
i turned off traction control, then tried to go around a corner with a slide and it felt like the traction control still engaged a little randomly, and the skid light on the dash came on a few times, this was while the track off light is on as well... anyone else having this issue?

Go to page 209 of the handbook and it will show a chart of settings. OFF is not really off unless you do as AzPete said. Be warned, fully off is fun but not on public roads!!!!

TC On
TC Off (single press of the TC Button)
Sport TC (double press of the TC Button)
Advanced TC Off (hold TC button for about 6-sec with brakes on, car not moving)
Every mode will still save your butt if the computer senses something not associated with a controlled movement by the driver, but Advanced TC is the only one you're going to be able to drive like an asshat w/o the computer taking over.

I was amazed to learn something new this morning when I read this. Not sure if I could even do a power slide in my V6 vert, but if the mood ever hits me I am not prepared.

There are 4-modes of Traction Control:
TC On
TC Off (single press of the TC Button)
Sport TC (double press of the TC Button)
Advanced TC Off (hold TC button for about 6-sec with brakes on, car not moving)
Every mode will still save your butt if the computer senses something not associated with a controlled movement by the driver, but Advanced TC is the only one you're going to be able to drive like an asshat w/o the computer taking over.

That said, I wouldn't suggest it on public roads, especially if traffic is around. You'll be amazed how easy it is to get the car sliding, and how easy it is to lose all control once you do.

Yea it really is surprising at how easy even base sixxer (like mine) slide and spin. Everytime i drive this thing it surprises me. Full off is always on, except in the rain unless its an empty road and i dont pose a danger to other drivers

My wife accidentally put mine into a drift once. She wanted to drive, so I pulled over and didn't even think about the traction control being disabled (How I always drive). We were taking a nice cruise around the local lake on back country roads, and hit a 20MPH S turn at about 40MPH, and sure enough the back end came out on her half way through.
Fortunately she's ridden and driven with me enough to know how to handle it. She feathered the throttle, counter-steered, and got it back under control really quick, but had it been a "normal" driver they probably would have ended up in the trees. Needless to say, the first question out of her mouth any time she sits behind the steering wheel now is "Is the traction control on?".
