Traction control off, but still seems to activate

i turned off traction control, then tried to go around a corner with a slide and it felt like the traction control still engaged a little randomly, and the skid light on the dash came on a few times, this was while the track off light is on as well... anyone else having this issue?

Are you sure you had it all the way off?

well as far as i know, its either on with light off or off with light on, i tried it with light on twice and the skid light came on a few times. isn't it only on or off and no other option?

My '11 GT, Sport is two quick button depressions and still leaves on some comp. control. All off is hold the button down for 6-8 sec. All these are done with the brakes on.

Correct.

Go to page 209 of the handbook and it will show a chart of settings. OFF is not really off unless you do as AzPete said. Be warned, fully off is fun but not on public roads!!!!

There are 4-modes of Traction Control:

TC On
TC Off (single press of the TC Button)
Sport TC (double press of the TC Button)
Advanced TC Off (hold TC button for about 6-sec with brakes on, car not moving)

Every mode will still save your butt if the computer senses something not associated with a controlled movement by the driver, but Advanced TC is the only one you're going to be able to drive like an asshat w/o the computer taking over.

I was amazed to learn something new this morning when I read this. Not sure if I could even do a power slide in my V6 vert, but if the mood ever hits me I am not prepared.

All except the last one, which turns everything off...

Does V6 have sports mode TC?

People who think they know everything are especially annoying to those of us who do.

I can assure you that you can easily drift even a base model V6 with the TC turned all the way off.

That said, I wouldn't suggest it on public roads, especially if traffic is around. You'll be amazed how easy it is to get the car sliding, and how easy it is to lose all control once you do.

Yea it really is surprising at how easy even base sixxer (like mine) slide and spin. Everytime i drive this thing it surprises me. Full off is always on, except in the rain unless its an empty road and i dont pose a danger to other drivers

My wife accidentally put mine into a drift once. She wanted to drive, so I pulled over and didn't even think about the traction control being disabled (How I always drive). We were taking a nice cruise around the local lake on back country roads, and hit a 20MPH S turn at about 40MPH, and sure enough the back end came out on her half way through.

Fortunately she's ridden and driven with me enough to know how to handle it. She feathered the throttle, counter-steered, and got it back under control really quick, but had it been a "normal" driver they probably would have ended up in the trees. Needless to say, the first question out of her mouth any time she sits behind the steering wheel now is "Is the traction control on?".

the Sport TC (double press of the TC Button) also need to apply brakes before pressing 2 times to activate it.
