TrackPack - Spoiler Delete

I was looking at a '10 Mustang that had the TrackPack option. One of the items listed on the window sticker as being included in the TP option was the rear spolier delete. I haven't seen this listed in the Mustang brochure or on any web info. How many of y'all have the TP and had the rear spoiler deleted as pack of the package? How many have not had the rear spoiler deleted as part of the TP package?
Roger

If you get the Track Pack there are a handful of limitations. One of them is that you can't get the rear spoiler.

I don't think you can get the Track Pack with the spoiler to begin with...

edit: beat me to it. ^
You also can't get the upgraded electronics/stereo packages...

'Cause they don't actually do anything.
That's why I didn't get one.

Less weight. And if an owner builds upon the Track Pack enough to actually need a spoiler/wing, they will install their own...

Because the Track Pack is a serious performance package, not a poser's package, and the rear spoiler on the Stang adds nothing but weight, drag and cost, none of which advances performance one iota.

Good riddance.

I agree about the spoiler, but Ford doesnt seem to agree about the rest of the Track Package. It is based on the Premuim GT which includes the leather interior and other weight and cost adding options as standard over the Base GT. If the Track Package was truly a no-holds-barred performance package, it would at least be available on the base GT with cloth interior and minimal or no other cost and weight adding options. I'm hoping this will be the case for 2011, but I have my doubts.

Do you really think there is a big weight difference between the leather interior and the cloth interior?

For the truly minimal difference, I'll take the leather without the non functional "spoiler"....

If we are getting this picky about saving weight (the spoiler doesn't really add that much weight) why not just go on a diet. It's cheap, healthy, and looks good! One of the best "mods" you can do.

I don't have the exact 2010/11 weights in available, but if they are anything like the weights I have for the 2005 GT (and they should be close), the leather interior adds 5 lbs, and the spoiler weighs 4.8 lbs. Not a lot, but every little bit helps. The bigger weight adders though are the Shaker 500 stereo that comes standard on the Premium Package cars, which adds 15 lbs over the base stereo, and the power driver's seat which is also standard on the Premium GT, not sure of the weight on that, but on my Bullitt, the power seat is 20 lbs heavier than the manual one. Add the stuff together, and the Premium package GT's start out around 40 lbs heavier than the base GT's.

Most people who want the higher performance capabilities of the Track Package are going to want the nicer standard features of the Premium GT too, which is probably why Ford put them together, as stripped down performance oriented cars traditionally haven't sold very well. Sure would be nice to have the option though (to get a Track Pack base GT).

In Canada you have the option...With or without the spoiler...That would be strange if the US Mustangs you could not get the spoiler...Check again...Strange to me..

That is too bad...There are always small changes form the US and Canadian cars...But the spoiler...I think it looks good. I will be getting the track pack with the spoiler...

Maybe with the 11 you will get that option when the order guide comes out...Good Luck...

I believe the electronics package is okay, nav and all, the no go is the shaker 1000 and its extra components and their extra weight.
