Today was last day of 2012 production. Crazy

I agree with OP here.
Ford is getting crazy with the car model designations and release dates.
Whatever happened to 1/2 year models if a company was going to release a "new" or "freshened up" model so early in the calendar year?
Why is it so hard to wait until October or November to release the next calendar year model, and if design and development finishes well before that and production begins say in February of the current year (like in this case with the Mustangs) calling it a 2012 1/2 like they used to do?
This also gives them an opportunity to release a new color or special wheels or so forth for just that 1/2 model year, to give it some exclusivity as well since it will only be in production for 6-8 months!

people ask me what year is my car, I tell them 2010, they think it is brand new or maybe about a year old (since 2011 is barely just behind us) . . . it's a little hard to explain that it is actually 3 years old, so I don't even bother

The rebates are why I ended up with my 2011 last year, I wasn't even looking to trade but I saw the ad's on tv with the rebates and my area had an extra $500 auto show rebate and I can get the Z plan from my Dad. I was on my way to the home and garden show and decided to stop at he dealer on the way down, 7 hours later I was driving home in a Mustang. I didn't even get to removed any of the mod's I had on my old car LOL. I kept going back and forth between a lease on a V6 vert or buy on the GT, after a few test drives I went for the GT and am really happy that I did.
