Here's another idea for the return of the Capri. Mazda is allegedly thinking about bringing back the RX-7. Since Ford and Mazda frequently do platform sharing, how about using the chassis of the new RX-7 with an entirely different body and an EcoBoost V6 to reincarnate the Mercury Capri?
Or, when they come out with an entirely new Mustang in 2014(?) make a Mercury Capri version. Cut it down a little so it's just a two-seater, give it a "bubble glass" hatchback and blistered fenders like it had in the mid-80's, standard T-tops, and the Mustang's powertrain.

It could be done again but there has to be a really good marketing case to support a separate Mercury version.

I could honestly see a new Lincoln RWD coupe before a Mercury. I don't see them living past 2015 with the current lineup. We'll know more when the new Explorer is unveiled, as they'll lose another item in their (Mercury's) collection.
Going to the Montreal auto show on Monday, i know there will be a couple of 2011 GT's and V6 too, so i'll make sure not to forget my cam. Will take as many pics as possible, i'm on a mission.
BTW, your PM does not work... I will try calling you later tonight or sometimes tomorrow.
back to OP. The more i look at that yellow GT, or whatever that new color is, it is growing on me, hope they have a dupicate here at the Mtl show.

. I wouldn't mind owning a '54 Sun Valley, either.
