Is it time for dealers to start discounting 2011's?
Is it time for dealers to start discounting 2011's?
Browsing the cars for sale and found a few GT's with some decent discounts and one in particular for over $5K off of sticker.
A premium GT with the optional 19" 5 spoke wheels, sticker at $34,690, advertised at $28,991.
Seems like a hefty discount for this soon since it will still be a couple of months for the 2012's.
Also tried the 2011 B&P page tonight and it won't let me build one, getting ready to change it over already???

Seems a bit weird but they might be. I mean heck most of us got ours discounted off sticker back when they were first released, so it doesn't seem too big of a change. Maybe the dealership just needs to sell some cars, or perhaps it's a mix of the 2012s coming and the fact that it's winter and Mustangs aren't selling as well. I mean this is the slowest point of the year and they already know the 2012s will be coming even earlier this coming year, so maybe they figure they need to start discounting earlier so they can clear off the 2011s in time for the 2012s. This year it did kinda take them a while to clear off the 2010s.
Yeah but that example I posted was way less than invoice. $5700 off sticker is an excellent deal for a 2011, wish I could grab it, it's even in Texas, not too far from me.
Since I got mine for $4k off sticker only 4 weeks after the 2011s came out and there were still plenty of 2010s on the lot, I would think there'd be some $5k and $6k discounts out there somewhere by now.
The 2010's had to be given away at deep losses to the dealers (and big rebates from Ford) since the 2011 was hyped so much (and rightfully so).
You really need to watch the ads. Some of the prices include every discount and rebate available even if you don't quality for them. So if you are not active military, police, recent college grad, and a horse lover, the price may be a bit higher.
I hate to say it but some Ford dealers may be a bit less than 100% honest in their ads.

Isn't that illegal in most states?
