Those with Recaro's

I'll put it this way. I have lower back issues. I have a Chevy Impala LS (forced upon me company car) and my Boss 302 with the Recaros. After a few hours of driving in the Impala my back is killing me. I drove all the way to Atlanta in the Boss and never had an issue with my back. Very supportive and comfortable

I first sat in recaros in my buddies boss,I thought they were extremely comfortable. That was the main reason I got recaros in my gt because his are so nice to drive in. I agree with sitRob tho go to your dealership and ask to seat in them they should be happy to let you.

Having drove back a 2012 GT500 on a dealer trade for forum member ecrissman, that was the 1st time I actually rode in a car with them for extended time. The trip was over 3 hours long and they were amazingly comfortable!!! They are worth every penny and IMHO, a steal at the price they cost!!!

I must have the stock seat all the way down for head clearance. What is distance between the seat and the headliner on the recaros? Can you adjust the recaros down? ...and I don't like that fact that they don't match the rear seat.

I can't provide info on long term use but I sat in a 2012 Boss with Recaro's (sadly, only for about 5 minutes in the dealer showroom) on Monday night and I found them very comfortable. (I'm 6'2", 225 lbs, 36" waist) They still have the tip forward feature for entry into the back seat (with the lever on the upper seatback just like on the standard seats) and they are height adjustable.

It may be comfortable to ride in but at the end of the day it's cloth seats, we all had cloth seated cars and we all know after 5 years from soaking sun it starts to give off a "cushion odor" We all take good care of mustangs not let anybody drink pop or eat in it but from experience from older cars people did spill pop on the seats(e.g a careless first date girl) and later it added to the odor.
I say go leather it's easier to clean, soft, comfortable, in summer wipe it with wipes to keep the leather moist but that's my 2 cents

My Recaro's are leather. And they are very comfortable compared to the base leather ones I had in my '12 V6.

The premium trim can only have the leather recaros like the shelby, and their are not really cloth if i remember correctly there that alcantara
thing(might be wrong but i believe so). and my 10 year old truck with cloth seats doesn't smell at all so no clue what this "cushion odor" you talk about.

The recaros are super comfortable but they are very tight fitting so if you are broad in the beam you won't like them.
And the cloth used on them is better than the base cloth.
As to odor after a time, there is such a thing as upholstery cleaner...

When I sold new cars at subaru dealer, people would bring trade-ins anywhere from 2-7 year old cars, and most of them would have cloth seats..doesnt have to be my car that has odor smell..we all know cloth has a smell to it once the new smell is gone...
stop bashing whats obvious

My 2005 F150 STX had the factory light grey cloth seats. After a year of monthly cleaning of the "leg sweat ring" at the seat edge, they came out and were replaced with a set of Lariat Leather seats. In Florida, it gets hot in the interior after sitting for an hour. I'll never buy cloth seats.
