Thinking of trading my 2011 for 2013

I bought my gt for 35k out the door when the msrp was 38,300. I put down 10 so my loan was at 25k for 60 months If im not mistaken. I pay about $460 so I would like to stay there.

I have 22k miles thus far and even though I love my 11, I would trade it up. Now, my only issue is to try and stay at the same monthly payments. I owe about 17-18k so I assume the trade in would have to around 27/28k.

Does anyone think a dealer would bite on the deal? Just wondering what kind of deals are you guys getting on these 13s.

I don't see you getting that much.....dealers sell them for around that with equal or a bit less miles on them. Now, trade for a higher dollar car and you might have some playing room but don't count on the higher dollar unit being discounted.

Sell yours outright and then deal......

I completely agree on selling it. They're going to bend you over on the trade (as they always do) I know selling it is a hassle but it's honestly the best route to go. then you can haggle down a 2013

Ive seen 2012's going for 27-28 retail, with less miles. I think youll get maybe 20-22 for trade if you are lucky. Selling it outright you will get more

If you want to know what your car is going to get from a dealer, take it to one of those carmax type places....they will give you a "buy it now" price which is going to be close or spot on as to what any other dealer will offer as a trade in.

IMO I wouldn't trade my 11 for a 13, especially how ford loves to make changes every year it seems like. The 13 has a few changes but it's not worth trading, hold your ground wait about 2 more years for the 2015.

I like the changes in '13..but I wouldn't trade up for one.
Wait till you see 2015. No like...go for a 2014.

This happens everytime a new model comes out.

Trading or even selling your 2011 for a 2013 is foolish. What exactly makes you want to take such a hit? The car isn't any faster.

Are you wanting to trade to get more/less options or change transmission type? What are you wanting to swap for? If it's just for the styling .. it would be cheaper to buy the body parts and swap them onto your car than get a new car.

Shelby sells take-off GT500 hoods cheap .. so you would only need the front bumper cover to do the front end.

Im on my second tranny and my engine ticks. No issues except notchy shifting but I learned to live with it. I hit a biker when he ran a stop sign and had to repair my hood. Looks good. Someone hit my car and scraped the rear quarter panel. Body work getting done and having it repainted as well as the door. Luckly, my car is black so it should be good.

I just feel a bit turned off about this so I want to start fresh since next year or down the road a buyer might notice and question. So if I can stay at same payments, id do it. But i like my 11 over the 13. No question. I think it would be better in the long run

^ yes this also

wait till Nov of next year and see the 15's, then you have choice.. if you don't like them you'll still have plenty of time to order a '14 & they'll have much bigger rebate too.

edit: if you trade it in, dealers don't usually care about the engine/tranny since they're under warranty

Go to truecar.com and that's the best you'll get. If you're a usaa member their car buying service trade values are the same as truecar. They have to take truecars price.

I owed $18K on my 2012 (which listed for $38K but I put $17K down including my truck that I traded) with 7600 miles on it and they gave me $27K for it. I went from $350 a month to $407 a month. If you try hard enough, they'll probably work with you. I liked the 2012 but I LOVE the 2013! Either way, they're awesome cars!!!
