If it's me, I get the Shelby. It's very possible that cars like this--sheer American Muscle power--will never again be seen in the production plants of automakers. Yeah, you can make a Mustang "yours," but you can do that with any Mustang. But no 5.0 is going to match that Shelby's power unless it's so highly modified it's better suited to a track-dedicated car. I won't be getting rid of mine for any reason. It's the one car I can honestly say that will always be in my garage.

I hate to say this but... If money and depreciation were no object, I'd do it. But alas, reality settles in. Affording a 65k or more car is something most of us will never see in our lifetime. Plus, absorbing the depreciation for selling a year or two old car is never a wise decision.
Given that, I love the new shelbies. The only car I'd ever give up Marilyn for.... Sssssh don't tell her, she might get mad lol

Once you drive one of the current GT500s, you will never look at your other Mustangs the same. The refined way this car puts down its sheer brute force is amazing. Name any other car under $100K that you can shift into 2nd @ 80 mph and still break the tires loose @ the shift.
Like others pointed out, it is the baddest Mustang ever & the last of the solid axle.
If I could afford one, I would buy one. By sheer luck, we had a once in a lifetime opportunity, & my beautiful wife insisted we buy one. I like your color choice but be prepared... It is not a popular combo when other GT500s are around. That's fine by me because I love our car and it is more rare because of the classic color combination: 1 of 1 in this color/build/options.
Your insurance and fuel will cost more. But for me, the smiles per mile are more than worth it. As a matter of fact, I'm gonna go hop in it, drop the top & hit the highway.
A word of caution though. If you want to track the car, many tracks require a vert to have a rollbar welded in & glass tops are not allowed at all. Choose wisely & enjoy!

A lot of good info here so there is not much to add but I did want to say this being that it is the last year of the GT500 you have to ask yourself if you would be willing to mod if or keep it OEM. If you want to sell it in the future your going to lose a lot if its modded. People that are going to want to buy it because it is the "Last Shelby" are going to want a OEM/100% stock car...

I would think people would be far more into the "last Boss", that's pretty much a guaranteed money-maker. Did you ever drive one? If so, then you know why. Just saying...if future "profit" is the motive.

Boss would have higher proportional value over the years. But if you've driven both the BOSS & the GT500, you'd know that there is no comparison between the two regarding which is the baddest Mustang.
