Thinking of cancelling my order.....?
I was thinking of cancelling my Pre-Ordered 2011 GT and just buying a 2004 Cobra, what are the Pro's and Con's of me doing this?

Why?
Do you have a link to the one you're looking at?
performance wise is roughly the same... given different mags...
You're sacrificing a major interior improvement tho... and all the goods that go with that.
have you ever sat in a 04 and then a 10?
I wouldn't... But that's my take.

While it's obvious he and the rest of you 2011 newer guys are trying to ruin this section of the site even more, I'll go ahead and comment since I have nothing else to do.
When I was going to order a 10/11, I actually considered this alternative. I'm used to the SN95 quirks (and honestly like the size way better; the S197 has gotten too big, but the 2010+ interior has me in love) and I love love love the sound of the supercharged 4.6 4V. I've only driven an SN95 GT, no Mach/Cobra experience though, so I don't have much to compare it to.
That all being said, when I found lower mileage 03/04 Cobras, the rate on a credit union/bank loan for me would have left me with a payment roughly the same of a higher priced new car with a lower rate. So it was pretty much a wash (at least with a 2010, 2011 would have cost way more). That and the insurance on the Cobra was higher. I think in a few years I will probably pick up a used 2011 GT500 with Glass Roof and EP, as that is the closest to the best of both worlds, supercharged mod-motor sound, 2010+ interior refinement.

Bottom line is I am very impatient, and the rumor of another delay drives me crazy! I love the 2004 Cobra and that is actually what I was going to buy in March but started to really like the 2011 GT! What I like about the Cobra is that I can do more to it without changing the internals, The 2011 has 412 hp that is all motor, but I don't know how far it can be taken without changing the internals? The interior upgrade in the 2011 doesn't really matter to me, my order is a basic GT Coupe anyways all I need is a CD player, if that! I just want overall performance!

What are your goals with the car then? If you've been on this site for more than a week you'd know that Evo is running 11.8s with BASIC bolt ons. Exhaust/tune, control arms and DRs. Since you went for the Brembos, I'd imagine you're into handling and road courses. If you ordered a base car, hell the Cobra has a nicer interior then. I think if you're looking for a road racer, the 11 GT would be a better platform to start from, even with the SRA.

It sounds to me like you:
a) Are a monkey wrench and are nuts more about modding the car.
b) Already have your mind made up on the Cobra.
c) Need the Cobra.
Given these things I can say get the Cobra, you will have your instant gratification. Especially if it's a good deal. There are some great upgrade parts out for the Cobra's, not just engine but EVERYTHING. I was just reading an article about replacing the forged steering components with solid steel/welded pieces, seemed like a worthwhile installation! Honestly if you want to mod, just get the Cobra, the parts are out there, the car is great and you obviously don't care about the interior which is great since the Cobra's do suck! I've put a few Nav systems in Cobra's, tighten/replace anything loose on the interior.
The '03 Cobra was the reason I got back into Mustangs in the first place and is the reason I am waiting for the 2011, it's more refined right off the shelf, which is what I need right now.
For you my friend, you need a toy and the Cobra is a big boy toy. Still the best of the SN95 and the best of many Mustangs. It's an SVT! The manual shifter feels great, it has a great stance and aggresive look and feel. Overall, it still makes me crane my neck when I see one.
Fix the quarks and do it justice, enjoy your Cobra! Oh yeah, no one can lay that solid rear axle crap on you either...just a thought.

Lol, okay that's a bit harsh. He is a fellow Ford enthusiast and a Bears fan; in my book, even if this thread is BS or not, I still felt like contributing. But Automagically may have hit the nail on the head there. I honestly don't know which is worse though, the Cobra interior or base 2010+. I'd say the 2010+ base is put together better, and quieter, but at that point who cares if he's looking for a car to race? I'd like the Cobra's fat leather wrapped steering wheel and snug seats over the base 2010 interior...

Cobra will be easier to mod, but has a terrible interior. Cobra has IRS but not a performance-oriented IRS.
