John GT, i wouldn't mess with a dealer that full of crap. They lied to you. I have a Ford dealership 5 miles from my house, they are full of crap, i'll never use them for anything. I bought my car from a Ford dealership 15 miles away.

The dealer emailed me back late this afternoon and told me that I was correct, the 2011's are on the way. He told me to let him know when I was ready to order one.

Some dealers are ignorant and some lie intentionally, it's hard to tell which is which . . .

I was recently looking at the inventory listings for a dealer on cape cod . . . they had a huge list of 2010 Mustangs which I thought was strange, especially since they had about 10 2010 GT's, all in different colors, all for exactly the same price something like $32,400 . . . so I asked them what was up with that . . . they said "oh we can get any of those for you, just come on down and we'll talk" . . . I said "hmmm, I don't think so, they aren't building the 2010 any more" to which she replied with some other nonsense like they can bring them in from other dealers . . . needless to say, I won't be buying anything from that dealer.

Most dealers around here will do a dealer trade to get whatever you want if somebody else has it. I bought an '08 Escape and Fusion from the same dealer... they went and got both of them.

I can't wait for my first service appointment. I might take it to my more-local dealer, just so they see the Yocum plates (if I still have em on at that point), and we have an awkward moment. This is the dealer that said I was full of crap when I told them the deal Jeff was able to give me.

I'd not only make sure the Yocum plates are on the car, I'd show the guy your invoice proving your claim. It'd be a good lesson for him.

I wouldn't give that dealer my business. If you want, drive by, show him your car, talk to him and let him know why you went somewhere else for the car and why you are going somewhere else for the service. Why turn around and pay them for services if they already questioned your integrity by saying you were full of crap!

I said the Altima and he responds: "Yea..those are nice. If I were you i'd buy the Nissan".

I guess he didn't want to make money.

Eulogy
As I recall, today is supposed to be the last day that Ford is building 2010 Mustangs.

yes I know that is true, but this particular dealer is clearly full of crap . . . there is no way they are going to find the cars that they are showing in their inventory

Order the car from one of the "Deep Discount Dealers" for $300 Under Invoice (Minus Rebates) and then give him that dealer as the shipment point. Car will come direct from the plant to that local dealer and he will have to do the dealer prep on it.
