You cant resubmit.
So its one entry per person and is calculated by registration (which is instant after the first step) it is not calculated by the actual submission.
When I emailed them about the problem, I got this response:
So I replied back
I immediately got this response
Oh, and I entered using my work computer. When I visited the site at home, my computer would crash

THIS CONTEST/SITE IS SUCH A JOKE! WE SHOULD COMPILE ALL OF OUR ISSUES AND FILE A COMPLAINT!
HOWS WITH ME?

I wonder when theyll deliver the car to the winner. I mean, if its released spring of 2009, how cool would it be to have one before everyone else, in 2008.
Also will they disqualify the winner for registering more than once, even if they were only able to submit once due to the sites crappy flash?
How do you search for your car anyway? when I select any of the categories, it loads all years instead of just one

Another question: does the story even have to be real? I mean what if you never owned a mustang but always wanted one? I also found someone who might make it to the finals. His story mimics my own cars. Problem is, the car it mimics isnt a mustang. So I chose to submit a real story about my mustang, even though my other cars story is more incredible.
The confusing thing is we're trying to hard to prove just how special our mustangs are, but if theyre that special, do we even need another mustang? Would the winner, if they still have theirs, end up selling the old one, or sell the new one? I bet a 2010 mustang in 2008 would pick up a pretty penny.
If I won Id just give it to my husband. To me, my mustang is special. I would never get rid of it. If it was my car, Id never drive it. But my husband has been wanting a new car for years now and I keep telling him no. We've never owned a brand new car before. And hes done so much to help me with my mustang, he really deserves this.

As for what to do with the stang if you win, well once they give it to you its yours. So you can do what you want with it. But I think the idea here is for them to give the Mustang to a die hard fan, and that's why they are having us write memorable stories instead of just having a random drawing. Therefore it'll likely be someone who would rather keep it then sell it.

Exactly. Which is why it wouldn't matter. I'm pretty sure they would understand because it's not like you have two different entries that can be voted on and hence two chances to win. Only one of your stories is visible, and the other pretty much doesn't even exist since the data was never sent. I really don't think its that big of a deal.

But thats pretty smart, give the car to some one who'll keep it. If I won, it would be my husbands decision. We could pay off the 2nd mortgage and almost half our house! ...But it would be pretty sweet for him to take it to the mustang meets/shows I go to. Rather than show off his wifes mustang, he could take pride in his own, and we both show off our cars together. If it were my choice, Id make him keep it.

All I know is, I hope they don't disqualify me because my browser froze after the first page of entering my name and email. It sent me the confirmation message right away. I never actually got to upload a pic or write me story. I'm going to use another email address and hope they don't count it against me.

I just completed my submission today. Luckily on my 2nd try using the same browser and computer as before. I'm going to wait a week or so though, before checking back. I dont wanna freak out if I dont see mine on the site after 3 business days

Ya, it took mine over a week after having to submit twice. Good luck!

I FINALLY UNDERSTAND!!!
This is just another elimination stage! They made it so difficult on purpose so that only those who really really REALLY wanted the car entered! Think about it. How many people would go through all that trouble to resubmit? Im sure a lot of people gave up entirely. Like that one person said, less competition.
-Edit-
Im only now just starting to read others. And you guys are right. For people claiming to be 50 something, their grammar is horrible! Also I thought we were supposed to share our mustang's story, not a story about why we deserve to win a free car. Some never have even owned a mustang. Some even end up selling theirs within a year!

I entered, never having owned a Mustang but being an addict for almost 20 years. Does the mean I shouldn't win one since I don't have a Mustang story of my own, when in actuallity I do, it just wasn't my Mustang?
#96
Yeah enter. You don't have to own a stang to enter, you just gotta love em!

"With the ‘Mustang Stories' contest, people can express their deep connection to and love for an American icon and have a chance to win a 2010 Mustang - a story they will be talking about for years,"
But some stories I seem to see are...
- "I love mustangs so much. I got my first in 2007 and loved it to death. I just recently sold it. (it could have been due to economic reasons, and that it was heartbreaking, but no, they never mention why. And this makes it seem like they dont realy care much for the car they claimed to love and would most likely sell the car within a year of ownership if they won)
- "I love ford so much. I've own an explorer and a ranger. I love escorts and tauruses. Ford makes such wonderful cars. They are really built to last. Please pick me" (Story doesnt even mentions a mustang, and seems to kiss a lot of ford butt in hopes that he/she will make it to the next round)
- "I love mustangs, my great great great great grandmother somehow managed to buy a mustang. She did so much with it. She died and now some other relative owns it. Our entire family shares memories with mustangs." (Mostly tells SOMEONE ELSES story with mustang(s). The writer was probably there in the car during many of the mustangs adventures. But since the writer speaks in 3rd person, rather than 1st, it makes it sound like its someone elses story, not their own. If I were a judge I wouldnt even consider these due to fear that the person the entry speaks of may have also entered, and wouldnt want them to compete against an identical story that was actually theirs.)
- "I used to own a mustang but due to economic/medical/family reasons I had to get rid of it blah blah blah..." (I dont have a problem with entries explaining why they no longer own their "special" car... ...but when its 250 words all about how your life sucks? If they dedicated an entire paragraph, or even 50%+ of whats suppose to be their mustangs story, it just seems like theyre trying to guilt trip the judges into letting them go to the voting stage, which of course, will get more votes because they are in need. Story should be about the good times you had with it, and no more than two sentences of why you had to get rid of it if you must discuss such things)

mylittepony-
i saw those stories, and i really agree with you. most of them are "look at how sad my situation is, give me a mustang"
my story was about an adventure I had in my car. I figured thats the sort of thing that people would be submitting. actually stories and events and occurences that show how much the Mustang means to them

Some of the folks who posted stories should be a little more concerned with English than with winning a car:
"I was envolved in a layoff..."
"I am currently drivering my dads car..."
