That being said, I received my VLED switchbacks today. I installed them in about 10 minutes or less. (Steve/Overboost, luckily I have small hands.) All I had to do was remove the radiator cover shroud, then the black connector before the signal lights (anyone know what that connector is for?), then voila disconnect the amber lights and swap them out. I guessed correctly on the polarity of one of them, then switched for the next one. Easy Peasy.

I must say, this is another one of my FAVORITE mods.

Do you have a link to the exact ones you bought? standard or CK wiring?..
No resistors huh...suprising! I have heard you really do need them?!

LOL... as opposed to what did you think they would like?
I was expecting them not to be as bright. But I think I know what I am getting soon

I tried last night but it was as bright as the sun. Lol. My camera couldn't capture it properly so I edited it out. Maybe I will try during day.

update:

was home for lunch so I took these daytime vids. Not too dark, not too bright for DRL's. Perfect.

You can do some research on bulb types if you want, but to make a long story short, 194s are little wedge-base peanut bulbs. You find them in map lights, side marker bulbs, behind-dash lights, interior accent lighting (when it's not LEDs, that is), etc. 3157s, and their dual-circuit cousins, 3357s, are large wedge-base bulbs that are used for front parking lights , or rear brake lights (usually 3357s for dual-brightness, or white/orange in the VLED's case). It's just something that's known. No car has a 194 (or its close relative the 127) for a front parking lamp - it just doesn't provide enough light.

FWIW, 3157s will fit into a 3357 socket and vice versa, though they won't work right. 3357 bulbs are distinguishable from 3157 bulbs by having two sets of contacts, and (for incandescents) two filaments. 3157s as a number are more commonly used than the (correct) 3357s in conversation.

thanks for info. FWIW, I already have the 3157 vled's installed

But yeah, I'm "thinking" about going with 194s for some of the interiors and side markers, but it's a very low probability.

I did the Recon 194s for the map lights and for my rear license plate bulbs. No complaints here.

Link to exact ones you bought please?

Was the install SIMPLE? remove screws, etc? map lights and rear plate?

And please tell me NO RESISTORS I hate wiring.

I can't get links right now, but if you go to Lethal Performance, they have a section dedicated to them. No resistors needed, but the map lights emit a faint glow when off.

Steve are these the ones? from Lethal? Specifically the white license plate lights and dome "error free" white led's.

http://www.lethalperformance.com/201...ent-bulbs.html

Sounds like the install was pretty easy on both? I thought for the rear plate bulbs you had to remove a lot of stuff to get to it?

In your guys' opinion, is it worth upgrading to white REVERSE LED lights? I mean how often do people see it, anyways

You only need the resistors if the vehicle has some sort of 'bulb out' wiring scheme, these cars don't have it.

Glad to see you got them on fromZ !! I went with 194's from eBay for the license plate bulbs.

Thanks jp. So the bulbs for the plates sounds like many options, lethal performance, etc. so is it easy to access the rear plate lights?

So sounds like map lights and license plate lights are the same? Aren't the reverse lights a different part #?

Dumb question here: is this only for people with HID headlamps?

Installed my Switchbacks today without any issues...literally a 5min job! Only cause I have an aftermarket CAI, otherwise it would probably be longer to install! No resistors either

Yes...the standard lights already have the amber lense and you would have to take apart the whole light to remove it!
