Bah, oil debate threads are cancerous to friendships.
I've seen all the test results on the BITOG forums and Mobil 1 is an outstanding oil. I'd choose Amsoil as a preference, but there only 5/50 is for Euro cars and has additived to handle their specific gas formulations.
The Penz/Redline has awful reviews in terms of bearing wear and sheering down to half of it's original viscosity in "x" amount of time. That's on one forum. On the next, it's prasied as the mother of all lubricants. If any of us really cared about protection at startup, a 0w oil would crush the 5w.
I've had excellent results from feeding all of my cars M1, where after a motor breakdown @ 165K, my 93 MR2 was spotless. My car isn't going to see racing conditions anyway.

And I totally wish you good luck using it.
Honestly, it's probably more than fine for any engine, but if I can do better, I try to do so.
I have custom-blended oil in the mail right now.
BND Automotive's "QuantumBlue" line of custom-blended oils and other fluids ... I'm getting 9 qts of 12.5W43 oil, a gallon of new fluid for the MT82 trans, and a gallon of new rear diff fluid, all with formulations meant specifically for my car and the weather/types of driving that I do.

Vendor on a Charger forum I was / am a member of, since I owned a 2007 Charger R/T, modded with new heads/cam/injectors/headers/cats/tune ...

The owner is Brian, a guy that you should only call if you have at least 45 minutes free, since he talks a lot ... lol
He's posted countless used-oil-analyses with Chargers running his oil for up to 13,000 miles or more, and the oil still tested good

Some of what he just said to me about the Amsoil 10W40 XL oil that I am currently using:
"... it is still PAO and really not good for long term use. Drops additive packages into your pan and really doesn't have much cushion for the engine. Remember that ours is good for 10-12k miles and won't shear at all and has 3% noack volatility compared to their 15%."
Talking about the Motorcraft 5w50 which in tests has been shown to shear down to a 40-weight shortly after being put into service:
"The 50 shears down to a 40 as part of the energy conserving bs that is in place with those oils. When you have a 5w50, what you really have is a 55 weight div by 2 or 27.5 centipoise. It then has to try to go down to a 5 centipoise or to drop 22.5 centipoise and raise 22.5 centipoise. I would make you 12.5w43 HP Competition Formula and the QB Ultra HP oil filter."
Talking about the trans/rear-diff fluids:
"There is a significant difference between what you have and what we can make for you on your Mustang."
And yes, some of this stuff seems like salesman-talk, but his stuff really is amazing.
He/they also sell "ACES IV", something that's a fuel additive, fuel-pump lubricant, engine top-end/fuel injector cleaner/lubricant, does all kinds of stuff.
1 OZ per 6 gallons when I fill-up ... I pour it in before the gas so it mixes better ... I'm not getting the mix perfect since I do it before and guess how much gas I'll need, but I use it, and figure it's better than not using it at all.

Lol ...
And in case you might be wondering why I'm changing out the rear-diff fluid, he changed his fluid in his Charger SRT8 with 8,000 miles on it and there were all kinds of metal shavings in the fluid (see the pic below for the gray stuff in the fluid)
I'm at almost 10k miles so I want to drain out the factory "for-life" fluid and get something fresh and better in there ...

I'm stuck here with a crazy chick and her daughter.
No more crazy/pissed-off women coming my way. Please and thank you? LOL
Lol ... my GF and I just broke up and I'm still living with her, can you say "weird" ??? I hate it but my condo can't be lived-in currently - I have new carpet going in Wednesday and the kitchen cabinets/countertop/sink some time in mid-April or later.
