Suspension ? What do I do!!!

Ive already added an Eibach pro- kit, even though it did improve the ride a little bit, I still can't stand the WOBBLYNESS it has when cornering. I am debating whether to purchase this kit- http://www.classicdesignconcepts.com...t_detail&p=152 -
However, HOWWWW much of a difference am i really going to see. I have wishful thinking ,and I want my car to feel like a lotus but I know that's not the case. Can anyone who has done these specific upgrades chime in, and explain the difference in ride quality/ feel/ performance.

As I posted in your other thread, get a fully adjustable coilover kit to start. Watts link afterwards and you will be golden.

Yeah but almost all the adjustable coil overs from a reputable company are around $1000-$2000 and I really dont feel like spending that much being I dont know how long I'm going to keep this car. I get rid of my cars usually within 1 to 2 years, and its hard to justify spending such big bucks on parts that i most likely cant carry over too another vehicle you know.

Then Tokico D-Specs would be more worth it for the price. And since you're going to need to factor in the install and alignment pricing you've already paid, again, you may as well just do it right this time!

I'm going to go with everyone and agree that shocks and struts should be next on your list. You'll need them to handle the increased spring rates from the Eibachs. You should also consider upgrading your lower control arms as well.

If you can afford to buy a new car every 1-2 years then shut up about the $1000-2000 for the adjustable coilovers then stop whining and just do it. If you are rolling in that much dough what do you care. Or just be like the rest of the sane world and go a tiny bit longer between new cars.

Being jealous and putting down another member who is simply seeking information is pretty rude.

With that being said, if you plan on upgrading to another mustang in the near futire, it should still be the same S197 platform. Suspension parts should carry over just fine.

Hey man,

Honestly, if you want the best handling you have to go coilovers...nothing else comes close...I have D2 Racing coilovers on my maxima, and it's night and day over my old H&R/KYB AGX setup...and once you look at it, after you spend the money on springs and struts/shocks, your almost at the cost of coilovers anyways haha, you'll never get the same cornering ability as using coilovers by using a spring/strut combo, because of the adjutability...it's like your on rails..it corners ridiculously flat, with the right tires you'll be flying around corners

That FRPP kit should make it better, rear sway bar and struts should be a nice upgrade if your using stock struts right now and it should stiffen things up quite a bit..other suspension parts you should look into is polyurethane bushings if they are availible

The last thing you have to take into consideration is ride quality, and how much your willing to sacrifice for cornering

Well I did a bit of researching last night , and it has become more apparent to me that coilovers are the way to go. If i do plan on selling my car in 1-2 years I will probably upgrade to the GT500, so like -Airsoft- said the parts should carry over just fine. Thanks for the help

What wobble you talking about? I have Eibach pros with the Eibach sway bar kit front and rear. I'm using stock struts up front and Qa1 12 way adjustable shocks in the back, and a steeda strut tower brace. My car handles awesome....

Im sure it does. However i have NOTHING but the lowering springs. So I still dont have that flat cornering feel, or that tight, nimble response.

what size wheels do you have? Some of the wobble could be your tire sidewall. I just used the Eibach's and have 20 inch wheels with 255/35 tires. Feels pretty tight to me.

Im running 20's with 255/35 front and 295/30 rear. I think i may have confused a few people the WOBBLE im talking about is the body roll

FRPP kit at CDC's price is a great deal--get that. I had it dealer installed at time of delivery of my '06 and never had a complaint about handling.

How much does the Eibzch pro kit lower the car? The fix may be as simple as a set of Steeda X2 ball joints and some lower control arm relocating plates. When a car is lowered it changes the roll rate (I think thats it) for the worse requiring heavier springs and sway bars to compensate. Having the right damper helps as well.

That's my car, but I can't comment on the Tokicos unfortunately (they were offered to me at cost but I was unable to get them at the time). However, the rear sway bar was a huge improvement over the stock piece. You don't know just how much of the body roll is due to the flimsy end links and rubber bushings until they're replaced with a larger diameter bar, billet end links and urethane bushings. I was shocked to say the least.

The non-adjustable Koni STR.T's are supposedly some of the best dampers around for mildly-dropped Mustangs, like yours. According to Sam Strano, a good set of dampers will make the most drastic change, and is your best overall bang-for-the-buck when it comes to overall suspension compliance. Couple those Koni's with some good sway bars and a Watts Link and your car will be transformed into something otherworldly in terms of handling and ride. Really, though, it will be a night-and-day difference when compared to your factory setup.

If you want to eliminate body roll, you need to look at larger sway bars (AKA anti roll bars). Springs might help a little, but the bars will do much more.
