Strut Tower Brace info/help needed

Folks...

With the addition of my Maggie blower last fall, I lost the stock GT strut tower brace. Since upgrading my suspension, I'd like to look into adding a STB back.

My question is, what STB will fit?

I am quoting a couple of guys from my past thread, GT50GO and Stormtrooper, but I haven't seen them on this site lately... I'll pm them as well, but according to them, a Boss302 or 09GT500 strut bar will clear under the stock hood.

Can anyone verify? I was actually interested in this one:
http://www.steeda.com/store/steeda-v...race-555-5718/

I figured, if a BOSS 302 STB clears the Maggie, then that Steeda should clear too right?

Another thing I could do is measure the distance between the base of the upper manifold to the top of the Maggie blower on my car... but I'll need some help from some of you 2011/12 Boss people, to please measure the distance from the base of your upper manifold (where screws are) to the top of your Boss manifold. That will be the best apples to apples comparison, don't you think?

My guess is that it will clear... but I wanted to make sure before I tell my wife what I want for Father's day

Thanks for the help all...

If the Boss will fit I would almost guess a V6 STB would also since the Boss STB is what they put on the V6 Performance Package.

I would assume that with the V-6, there's a lot more gap between the bottom of the brace in the top of the manifold. I don't know how different the spacing is between the V-6, boss, and a supercharger top.

Does anyone else have any input?

I also agree with Siber Express. I've read the same thing online from various different sites and reviews.

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...ge_first_test/

"Our car is also spec'd with the V-6 Performance Package, which fits the Mustang with GT goodies, like its strut tower brace, and with new front and rear anti-roll bars, unique brake calipers, 19-inch wheels with summer rubber, and a more aggressive 3.31 final drive ratio."

this is a quote from the URL I put up.

I can't see how it would be different for the V6 model either. You'd likely be best to call your local ford parts department, if they don't know, they might be able to get you an answer.... good luck!

I have no doubt the Boss STB will fit both the V6 and the Boss. My issue is that I have a Magnuson TVS, and am not sure how different in height the two are.

That looks great sir! I like that brace. But again, I don't know how different the Magnuson and Roush are in height. Judging from the pics, I think it should fit because the Magnuson intake is actually on the front, just like a stock 5.0. Which means, I don't have to worry about the intake tube getting in the way at all, only the upper manifold/top of the blower.

I like that a LOT! I can also see that even if it's on an 07-09, it also fits the 13's, since one of the pics are the Roush GHIG there. So pricey though!!!

So if I hear this right... my current options that have a HIGH probably of fitting over my Maggie are:

2011-13 Boss STB
Steeda Boss STB
07-09 Ford Racing

Is that correct?

This is the STB on my car now, I was lucky to scoop it up from Nocturnal14 when he sold it.

I like the double bar look, I'm not a big fan of the big "Steeda" in the center. I bet it will fit but of course just guessing. I'd check with Steeda before ordering and ensure if it doesn't that you can return it.

Yes I already did. They will allow me to purchase and return. I think it will though. I gently placed the stock stb over the Maggie today, and just looked at how far off it was, and it wasn't by much at all, I'd say off my 1/2"? So I'm sure the boss stb will fit and this the steeda stb. You don't like the steeda billet logo? I actually like it!!!

Wait... You have a 09 GT500 stb that you're willing to sell me for 30 bucks? You used it on your other car before? Hmmmm I might be interested.

FYI, in general, I am having 2nd thoughts on the boss stb I just bought. I'm debating silver versus the black double bar look of the steeda. What do you guys think looks better? The boss or steeda stb?

I like both, but the Boss bar would look more OEM, however the Steeda double-bar would allow you to see more of the Maggie…

I think functionally, both would be fine. But I think I prefer the black look. I will plastidip the boss bar when it comes in.

Who wants to buy my stock GT stb???

Had it on my '12 V6, took it off before trading it in.
