Nooooooooo!!! I just got my FRPP today in the mail please tell me this is wrong. This is what I get for playing it safe. How do you lose hp? Somethings wrong. My cars is all bundled up now anyway so I didn't install yet. I knew it would be less than the AM tune but this ?!

We didn't do anything to skew the results. We were actually quite surprised, but datalogging just shows low timing and VCT as well. This in no way was meant to be a stab at FRPP. The driveability of the car is great, and there's a nice increase in throttle response.

Great job on the numbers Chris! Nice explanation too (in that thread).

Why to they claim 16hp gain with their filter and tune then ? I know you can't answer for them but this sounds like false advertising on FRPP part. If its increased throttle response then just put it in the advertisement. I don't know where they came up with this imaginary 16hp gain. Unless there is a 16hp gain over the stock somewhere in the band and by looking at the dyno results on the other site it does look like in a few spots the FRPP out performs stock most obvious is from 5250 rpm to 5750 rpm, looks like anywhere between a 10-15 hp advantage in that one spot.

Maybe in their testing somewhere they saw something different? They could have used different fuel and it didn't pull timing, so they got an extra degree or two. Who knows.

That's why we're going to do these tests again. The weird thing is that their calibration is for 91 octane, we had 93 in there, so it should not have been pulling timing in any way.

I love that American muscle tests this stuff themselves then has people like chris or amstanger in the mm forum to answer our questions. You get real world answers and proof of performance gains and losses. I laugh at this cai debate. I see that thread everywhere which is the best, which gives more power. NONE.... Not without a tune otherwise all you have is a real pretty and expensive air filter. Mine is still the stocker with an amsoil synthetic filter with the silencer pulled off and I run 12s on spray so you don't NEED a cai when the stocker is good to about 450 hp. The real restriction is the stock plenum. Anyways enough of my rant. American muscle for life

+1...

I have been very happy with AM with the fast and excellent service they gave me with 6 different tunes on my 2009 GT over the course of the year. The accessibility of their staff and the fact that they actually answer the phone is worth it's weight in gold.

I'm about to request a tune for my 2011... can't wait.

I'm sorry but that data seems way skewed IMO. A lot of other graphs show gains with the procal, and prove that one wrong. You can't argue when others post evidence on it.

Wow! Nice job. What gets me though is the relativly small HP increase but massive torque increase with the BAMA tune and I nearly went with the ProCal yesterday, guess I'll think again - only want a 91 tune as 93 is hard to find around here.
