Did they build Mustangs before 2011?
It was an option in 2010 as well.

What do you mean "real?" They are different. Ford's decklid panel has the lines across it, the vinyl doesn't. The way you are saying it makes it sound as if there is another blackout panel that has a smooth surface, which is not the case.

The real one is a Ford OEM molded black trim panel that makes the badge sit flush with the lights - the other is a sticker...but yeah - not smooth - just don't want any stickers that will start to fade/peel/crack
