Hey Guys & Gals,

I just wanted to inform the new members, that if you are looking to upgrade your vehicle's handling, then the Rear X-Brace is a great option:

Do you have to remove the carpeting and spare tire cover permanently?

From what our installers told me ... You do not have to remove the spare tire or get rid of the carpeting ... you can see in the pictures ... the carpeting has been retained:

I finally got mine installed this morning. 27/64" bit is not big enough so it's better to use a 1/2". I had to use a round file until it's big enough so screw it in. Thank God for small hands as I managed to fit my hand in one of the holes while holding the nut.
Now for a test drive.

I guess OMG cannot qualify as a write up, can it?

I'm going to try an elevated ramp, with expansion joints, with asphalt patches, pot holes and a curve tomorrow. My Focus goes through it like it's nothing but is really painful with the Mustang.

On the elevated highway with expansion joints, it feels like I had tamed a wild stallion. My wife couldn't believe that I was going 85 mph and changing lanes at that.

I'm very satisfied with this purchase and I have 3 friends with GTs that will be placing their orders soon.
You will sell a lot more if you make one for the vert also.

since you already have to bolt this x-brace to the shocks and then the one hole at the top why do you need to drill another hole in the top next to the other bolt? advantages?
can it be installed with just the one set of bolts with hole provided instead of drilling?
anyone can chime in here....
no plans to race the boss with it in but just curious.

You need to drill four holes because the existing holes do not line up with holes on the x-brace.

ok so this might be a little rant but just need to find out if anyone has encountered this with their x-brace. so i got it the other day and wanted to get everything ready to possibly install this weekend... so my instructions say i need a 6mm and 15mm wrench to remove the shock bolts....so i went out and bought a 15mm wrench and when i got home it didnt fit...come to find out thru some trial and error its actually a 18mm bolt and i have to use a 9mm wrench to hold the shock bolt....npt the 15mm and 6mm like the instructions said.
so now i have to wait till another free weekend to do this since i have to take what i bought back and exchange it. seeing that it will not actually take an hour to install (unless you are a professional) i wont have enough time tomm to do the project. has this been the case with all of you when installing your brace?

My GT/CS has a 15mm nut but the 6mm didn't fit because it's not a hex. I just used a vise grip to hold it down. I used a 15 mm pivoting ratchet wrench because there isn't much room for a regular wrench once the x-brace is mounted. I guess your Boss has upgraded shocks since the nuts are 18 mm. I also removed the spare tire to have more room to work inside the trunk. It took me a little over an hour to do it. You also need a 1/2" bit instead of 27/64.
Hope this helps.

Would totally buy this product if it was direct bolt in. But drilling holes... Pass...

Hey Guys & Gals,

I just wanted to post a couple reviews we have received on this product:

This is a great product and what makes it better is that it looks great when you open the truck and you keep the back seats..best of both worlds. install was a little tricky and I would suggest air gun to removed the shock nuts and might need a little larger drill bit to fit for the bolts (unless you are welding). it makes a huge difference in stability, plants the live axle on the ground at high speed turns. definitely worth the time and money!
If you have it installed ... lets hear your feedback!

Best Regards,

TJ
