I plan on powder coating my brembos bright red. I think with these rims they will pop. The black rim tends to blend in so I'm thinking the gunmetal might be better.
What color is that m3
Sorry op we really de-railed your thread. I hope this info sways you to these rims they are really nice

I think the gunmetal with the red brembos would be outstanding. I know its bling if you dont' track but a set of slotted rotors would be sweet as well.
Apologies as well to OP. I think the Forgestars are approaching the quality of a high end wheel but a midline budget. Neat thing is, these wheels are also on Porsches, BMWs as well as quite a few other makes.

Don't apologize... I love all of your input. I actually looked into the F14 Forgestars, and while I agree that those rims are super hot, I also have to consider my current budget. $1700 plus tires will catapult me around the 3k mark or even above. I even contacted Forestry but never got a response to my inquiry. Do you have a dealer contact or contact person at Forgestar?

Neither. If you really like the black TP wheels, just have yours coated. Much cheaper alternative.
I like the F14s or the SVT PP wheels honestly. RTRs aren't worth your time, and for the money I think I'd rather put it towards a better quality (i.e. forged) wheel.

Call the folks at modbargains, here is the website.

They are a Forgestar distributor and have good prices on them...btw, it takes 5 weeks to get the wheels made as they do custom offsets. They are mainly a BMW aftermarket shop but they will get them for your Ford as well.

Thanks for the info. I have a question for y'all though (maybe a stupid one)... Why do you want to stick as close to stock diameter (27") as possible? Would that completely eliminate 20" wheels?

Black staggered Spyders... no contest (to me)

Lets take a 2011 Brembo equipped car that uses a 255/40/19 Pirelli PZero (newest version, which is an excellent tire). This tire comes in right at 27lbs, if you go to a 275/40/19 this tire comes in at 33lbs, you are now 6lbs heavier just for the tire swap. If you come in as close to the OEM diamater of 27" or a 275/35/19 you get the same tire weight of 27lbs but you also get the larger footprint. To run this tire properly though you need a 9.5" rim width, yes it will safely fit on a 9" wide rim but it won't be optimum. The Forgestar 19X9.5" F14 in a 45mm offset comes in right at 23lbs..some 7lbs lighter than the OEM Brembo wheel. So not only did you gain 20mm of tread width but you gained .5" of rim width for sidewall stability as well as a wheel that is some 7lbs lighter than OEM or 28lbs of rotational mass. Your car is going to feel like a athlete that is just so much lighter on its feet. You will notice this..
As far as negating the use of a 20" wheel it won't...as you would just use a 275/30/20. Keep in mind 20" wheels are nothing but for bling factor, they are heavier, have less sidewall and tire selection is going to be that much harder. A few years ago it could be said that 19" wheels are just for bling, however, more and more tire manafacturers are going with 19" sizes and manafacturers are tuning the cars for this size. Porsche specifically tuned the 997S for 19" wheels and PASM (Porsche Active Stability Management) as does BMW and other manafactuers as I'm sure Ford did for the 19" Brembo cars.

I know from my own experience with my M3, since my switch to a 255/285 setup the fronts are .2" taller than the rears while OEM 245/265, the fronts are .5" smaller in diamater than the rears. It caused my DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) to kick in a little early, it doesn't allow any shenanigans at all now. While before it would let you get a little sideways before it kicked in. It looks so good though..

BTW, a good tire for this setup is the Conti DWs, they aren't to expensive and they are light!! Only 27lbs for the 275s and 28lbs for a 305, while most other manafactuers the 305s weigh in at 30lbs plus. Unfortunately the Contis in the 305s are back ordered until the beginning of 2012.
