**STEEDA CAI AND TUNE TRACK TESTING**
We did some track testing this past Saturday night and got some great results out of our CAI and tune combo.
This is our 3.31 geared car that we originally used for our CAI testing. Baseline run was completely stock engine down to the mufflers, airbox, paper air filter, wheels and tires, etc. Only modification is a set of Steeda springs. Best time for the day stock was 12.99 at over 112mph.
We then installed the CAI and tune on site and made another run which resulted in a 12.45 @ 115.51!
Here is copy of the 12.45 timeslip

This is all very encouraging. I'll admit, I was one of those who was skeptical that there was anything left in these engines from the factory, this takes care of those worries. I wonder if FRPP is going to put out their own CAI soon.

The Automatic transmission kits were just released this past Friday. All the kits from the first batch went out the door and I'm back at zero now, but only for another day. I should have a second batch back on the shelf by tomorrow.

very nice.
Was that on stock 18" tires too?
I'd venture to say that would not be possible with intake/tune only on your car if it had 3.73's either.
As I'm sure the stock all season tires would spin too much to get that kind of time, and you'd of needed a shift to 5th as well, which would of killed trap speeds a bit as well.
Too bad you guys didn't have 3.55's
Still would of gotten some traction and still could trap 115+ mph in 4th.
BTW, was this on pump 91 or 93 octane or did you have race gas in too?
very nice.

Wow!!!! great numbers Gus,
I just installed my CAI and tune on my base GT with 3.73 and I could tell imeadiately how well this motor responded to the increased air flow. The tune is spot on aswell and the fit and finish superb.
I have a ? concerning the fans comming on much earlier and often then before the CAI/tune
I have the CAI/SCT combo and I did'nt see the fan/temp in the options available to adjust in the strategy tune.I would like to set them back to the stock settings if possible.I made all other adjustments and my car runs like a raped ape but I dont want the fans running all the time if not needed. The temp gage is normal and stays in the middle but I beleive the low/high fan on settings may have been lowered in the tune. Thanks for your help and the good info on this great set up.

From the factory, the 5.0 needs 91 octane for maximum performance but will run just fine on 87 octane. After the Steeda tune, is 91 or 93 octane required, or will it still be able to run on 87 octane?

Only options if I remember correctly that are available are idle speed, speed limited, spark, axle ratio, and tire size.

The 3.7L CAI is still in the development phase. Production is still at least 4 to 5 weeks away if we are happy with how development goes in the next few weeks.

Thanks Gus,
now I know I'm not going crazy and missing any of the available options.I will list the options that are available on the SCT 3015 that I have.
axel ratio
octane,87-91-93
revolutions/mile
cold air induction stock/Steeda
speed limit
rpm limit in drive/limit in neutral
global spark
idle
traction control off
hope this helps
