You can't see the dust on Oxford White like you can on black. On the shelby, the sides get this weird grimey black build up but no noticeable dirt accumulates on the read end.
Having a black car is a full time job.

I wanted them to work so bad for my black car but no matter how much i shook the **** out of em like the directions said, after a few uses it was plain to see a few very faint scratches after every use.

Its a shame they can't use a transparent conductive coating on our cars (which would pretty much eliminate the dust problem).

In ophthalmics, we use transparent conductive oxides to coat lenses and keep them from attracting dust. Static electricity in general is generated when you have friction between nonconductors (like when air blows across a non-conductive black panel). The static builds and attracts charged particles in the the surrounding air (like dust). If you have a conductive surface (which I imagine could be created by altering the clear coat), no static will build and dust will actually be repelled from the surface.

There is a technique to using them safely. People who don't know better will just plop it on the hood and drag it across to dust the surface. Instead, you want to suspend the duster above the surface so that the fibers hang freely and are just barely touching the paint. It's also good to give it a good shake after each pass. You also want to use it on light dust/pollen only. Anything more and it's time for some Ultima rinseless wash or a standard two bucket wash.

I sub-contract that out to an auto detail-er.
