SR Performance vs Steeda Springs

Hey guys, Happy Thanksgiving!

Both are $160, what springs do you think I should go with? SR Performance
1.5'' drop all the way around, Steeda is 1'' front, 1.25'' rear. Thoughts?

Thanks.

I won't speak about the competition ... but the Steeda Springs are the way to go.

There is a certain "sweet" spot for the suspension that we have found, through hours & hours of testing on the track, street & strip ... that the 1" & 1.25" drop is ideal.

Our experience and expertise in high performance street and racing suspension systems is second to none - Put that experience to work for you. Steeda springs are all in house engineered and custom made to our exact specifications.

Steeda springs provide the best combinations of handling and ride quality available!

I will let others weigh in ... but you will be very happy with the quality & ride that the Steeda Springs offer.

Best Regards,

TJ

Between the two I would go Steeda. I had the SR on my six and thought it rode to rough. I never got the feeling the SR springs were a good quality spring but lots of people like them especially paired with the stock stuff. I had them paired with Steeda Pro-Action shocks and struts so it could have just been a bad pairing I dunno I just know I didn't like how they rode. I now how BMR springs and they also ride and handle very well.

I just ordered up some sports. Wasn't even a debate for me. With a reputation as the best ride quality of all lowering springs, the only decision was sports or ultralites. To me, 1.5" looks too low in the front, and although I want to keep a bit of rake but reduce it a bit.

I already had their panhard bar and will be going steeda the rest of the way on the suspension. It really isn't much more than other brands but in my eyes the quality is far superior.

I have the Steeda Sport springs, paired with Koni Yellows, they are really stiff though. On a smooth road, they ride awesome, but once you hit some bumps, you will feel it. I have the Track Pack and I thought those springs were stiff, the Steeda definitely feels harsher over bad roads.

It definitely gets rid of the 4x4 look, but to most people who don't know, they would probably think the height is stock.

Looks perfect. Not too low to rip off my chin spoiler and doesn't look like a 4 x 4

Here's my stock height

I found the 1" to be just about perfect overall. More than that, it looks too low, gives it a 'deflated' look.

I would go with the Steedas, myself, between the two, for that reason alone.

I have the SR springs. I am very happy with the look and for my preference 1" did not seem like it would be noticeable enough from a visual standpoint.

I can't speak to the other brands on our cars. In the past I have run Megans, Eibachs and various coilovers on different vehicles. I find the SR to be on par ride wise with the stock Ford springs for comfort. It also helps that I am running stock GT wheels on my 3.7.

When I had my other set of aftermarket 19's with thinner tires the ride was a bit harsh for my liking. Springs seem to be only half of the equation, shocks and other components will compliment or clash with the springs you may choose ultimately.

Little late chiming in but I have SR springs and have been satisfied so far. I'll be changing to stiffer springs with adjustable shocks/struts in the near term as I slowly transform the car into more road course car less street car. But I've been very happy with the SR springs on the street and at the track this past season.

Car is looking good man... did you do shocks/struts and/or mounts as well? I was on the fence between ultralites and sports...they seem pretty similar aside from that extra 1/4" drop. I ended up looking at boatloads of pics and decided the Sports were the best choice for what I had up my sleeve for the rest of my setup.

Lakeguy,

They are both great choices ... here are the slight differences between the two (2):

The Sports will offer a little better handling vs. the Ultra Lites which will give a slightly better ride ... but won't handle as well as the Sports. Subtle differences ... but both are very good springs.

Best Regards,

TJ

Yep, in the end I decided on the better handling, along with preferring the SLIGHTLY less drop (which actually was heavily influenced by different tire sizes on the cars I was looking at), and making sure to pair it with the right dampers to make up for any loss in ride quality. I find most people unhappy with the ride quality of really any lowering spring either didn't do the dampers, or chose a poor match.
