Yeah, the heat extractor vents look to be a cheap, plastic afterthought. I sure hope it's just a part of the camouflage (which I doubt). Otherwise, it's a pretty sweet-looking car!

My opinion:
Overall, the front end is a HUGE improvement. The cleaner bottom of the front bumper is appealing, and the hood looks right, with the exception of the extractor. Grille is right, lights look right. The fogs are in the *correct* spot, unlike GTs (and yes, this includes Awesome, but she's gonna get plastic surgery soon enough.)
This is very nice indeed, I like it
However, the rear... is still the rear. Baby got back, and not in a good way. Of course, with teh freakin "JALOPNIK" covering the bottom of the bumper, i can't really tell what's going on... but it's not the current GT500 goodness, that I can see. it is the smoother one, though, and that's somewhat better than the diffuser thing. But nothing can help that light/huge problem it's got. Shame, really.
One last thing i noticed... the "midline" ridge? The line going from wheel arch to wheel arch and continuing to the quarter panel? It's *way* too pronounced for my tastes. The subtle bend in the 05-09 is better.
I sincerely hope my opinion does not have anything to do with the buying public's, but I do hope it helps them with the 14, because these design changes are not for the better... with the exception of the overal GT500 front end. That's nice indeed.

It's OK, but If that is what Ford is Holding for the Detroit Show, Really Hoping that is Gonna get People Excited, I think Detroit is Gonna Be a Big Let Down. We've seen enough Spy Pic's of the GT-500, that after the 2010's Reveal we Know What It's Gonna Look Like. With the Exception of the Hood Grill and Front Bumper It's Really just 99% of what we've already seen. Other than the Engine. It's Anti Climactic to Just Release the GT-500. I Hope Ford is Hiding Something Bigger for Detroit Myself.

Sorry, not joining the complainers club. I think it looks awesome. The blue and black is gorgeous, and the front and rear both look even better than the current (which in my opinion is one of the best looking Mustangs since the 60's).

Jeff they should have offered the better motor from the get go. You have to admit the marketing of this is terrible. I would rather they had a full 2009 model year and give them the extra 6 mos. to get the motor done. If I had my head in the sand and bought a 2010 and a year later the 2011 stang comes out with a 5.0L4V motor with 375+hp and the 2011 GT500 gets the alum. block I would be pissed. I do understand the Camaro and such is coming ou,t but man...

I'm going to have to wait to see that grille/hood undisguised before I start comlaining, LOL
But as of right now, I'm not liking what I'm seeing. I think the GT/V6 looks nicer.
I love the wider stance with those wheels. They appear to be wider wheels/tires. Or at least wider tires on a more aggressive offset wheel. Either way, much nicer...

Sure they should have. Your totally right Dave. But they didn't have the motor ready and I would rather have the motor delayed but come out with 0 issues, than a rush-job and have warranty problems. From all rumors, both V8 engines will be offered to the public, as a way to keep CAFE down. But again, your 100% correct and I agree with you. I for one am telling everyone who asks that the 2011 will have a larger motor. Just so they don't get pissed at me, lol.
I agree, we don't want warranty issues..but they just should of had a full 2009 model year and then issue the new Mustang for 2011 with not only the 5.0L4v but also the 3.5L V6 instead of the dinosaur motor 4.0L SOHC ranger motor.
