Spent some time at Rehagen Racing the other day...

...and I thought I'd share a few things.

When I arrived, Shaun (Stinger1982) was finishing up an install on yasuro's GT500 mufflers. We did some quick comparisons with the GT500s, Corsa Extreme with X-pipe, and the Dynomax 3" system on each car. Each gives the car a distinct sound, and hearing them all together is a great way of comparing them. I wish now I had grabbed some video of each being driven.

Once it got colder, we went inside. I talked with Shaun about winter wheels & tires (considering the 18" GT500 wheels, TPMS, and winter tires) as well as discussing suspension work. While I was there, based on my driving and use of the car, and intentions, they were able to give me a very good idea of what to do with the suspension. They quickly eliminated some concerns of mine and were able to cut through the BS of parts that exist, and offer up suggestions that made sense. That alone makes all the difference.

So, to sum it up, these guys are great. They've been nothing but class-act since I met them, and are great to talk to with questions/concerns about the S197 chassis. Shaun is a great guy, and for parts, has been fantastic to deal with. I will be going through them for just about any part I need, whether it be suspension, body, or wheel related. I just felt it was worth sharing with the community since they've come on the scene and done a great job.

Just the fact that they are all Ford or ex-Frod makes me wish I was close to Michigan.

Great to hear your positive comments. Good to support vendors like them. By the way, whats your opinion of the Ford Racing GT500 mufflers ? I'm seriously considering them or the Roush. I would appreciate your comments, im having a hard time making my decision, both seem to have positive and negatives but its hard to tell from most of the crappy sound clips for both.

If you're looking to add some sound and keep it on a budget, the GT500 mufflers are the way to go. The two things I was concerned about were fit and drone, and these are more than sufficient in both. OEM quality fitment and NO drone.

As I've said before, I'd be ordering a set of GT500s if the Corsa wasn't presented to me for a killer deal.

thanks for the kind words Steve.

He neglected to mention I was dead sexy. (LOL, couldn’t be farther from the truth)

Working with other enthusiasts’ is a true joy for a guy like me and the shop is filled with guys that have worked for Ford and they love to share their passion the same way. It’s cool to watch.

Any new input on wheel/tire width for the snow?

(I still think those GT500 wheels are too wide, but open to suggestions)

If you've got Brembo's, your choices are very limited. I haven't looked much outside of that wheel.

I'm looking for the exact same thing. Planning on picking up those GT500 wheels, they look great. Just waiting to hear back from Shaun about winter tire options.

I posted a thread with available options and some discussion.
