Well, when one of you guys pulls the sound tube hardware off your car, then pack it up and send it to me.

Whenever I have the money to get a CAI/tune, I'll most likely post it up here. If/when you see that, send me a PM as a reminder. If you're ok with payment on delivery, I will send it

BTW...What did the 2010+Mustang owner's wife say to him after they stopped to park?

Is that your sound tube or are you just happy to see me?

You disconnected the tube from the car or you pulled the baffles out?

I pulled both the day I bought the car! I like it much better. Still wish it was louder at idle.

Is it just my car, or does it get really raspy and vibrate at the higher end of the power band?

I ended up plugging the foam thing back in.

Those pictures in earlier posts are somewhat misleading. To pull the portion in the engine, you need to pull the hose on the back side (toward the cabin) of the diaphragm (the larger part that's bolted to the fender). If pulling doesn't work, try rotating it slightly and then use a push/pull motion and it should slide off. The white foam piece should be inside the hose.

thanks for posting that . . . . I've looked at mine a couple times and couldn't get it to come apart . . . I wasn't 100% sure where it was supposed to split, so I didn't pull on it too hard . . . . IIRC, on my 2010 there is no clamp, just a real tight fit of the fire-wall side of the hose onto the back of the diaphragm piece. I'll have to give it another try, if I still don't get it I'll post a pic or two for more help.

If I get real ambitious, I'll take some new pics and write up a how-to in more detail.

I just did this on my 2010...definitely a noticeable difference, Mine only had the grey foam piece where the tube goes into the body panel. I'm not sure if I like it yet, I'll test it out a bit more.

Is it possible that the foam piece is to prevent dust from being sucked into your intake? Would that air otherwise be filtered?

From what I could tell looking inside the main diaphragm of the soundtube there is a rubber seal separating the tube running to the intake and the tube running to the cabin so moving the foam piece won't create unfiltered air going into the intake.

There is no air flow through the tube, only sound, the strut tower mounted diaphram prevents any air flow.
