I wonder if we'll see a mach 1 or boss.....I honestly dont know if it will happen. It would certainly be cool though. IF there is something there mustang related, it would have to be one of those or if we're really lucky a 2010 prototype....but thats wishful thinking. They will probably just have the Bullitt there.
And in regards to what Rocky said about not having a model's refreshing concept for the SN-95.......was the 1999 FR500 concept that car? I was kinda young back then and dont really know what purpose that car served.

By any chance would you mind posting a pic of the 1999 FR500 ? I honestly don't remember it very well, and even if it had been a concept.
I don't believe the body style was any different, from the SN-95 lineup during 99-04

Things change but I think NYIAS is too soon to show the '10.
Ford is still trying to sell '08 Bullitts and other '08GT/V6's.
The MY2009 can't even be ordered yet and they are counting on that Glassroof option to be a big seller. If they were to show the next generation they would have a hard time selling the current style without a huge incentive and/or price slash. Both of which Ford can't do right now.
2009 models will probably hit showrooms in the May/June timeframe and continue through Jan/Feb '09 around NAIAS. Then I think we'll see the whole new line-up, Boss, Shelby, GT, V6, etc.
For the rest of this year we will probably see a MACh (40th Anniv.) at NY or in April at the MCA 44th Annual Show.

I've been reading everywhere that people are saying '09 will be a short model year, but I don't believe this for several reasons (not the least of which is my own selfish motivation to order a '09 model early next year after I save some money this year haha).
The '09s aren't going into production until the last week of May this year. In order for the '10 model (which hasn't been revealed yet obviously, with no major US auto shows on the docket later this year) to go into production by Jan/Feb/March of '09 as many are postulating, production of the '09 model would have to end by December of this year with at least 3-4 weeks of retooling time for the '10 model. A production run of 7 months for the '09 model? That seems ridiculously short to me, especially since the current body style hasn't even been out for a full 5 years.
The more likely scenario, I think, is that the '10 model will be revealed at NAIAS next January, while '09 model enjoys almost a complete model year to complete the typical 5-year model cycle, with production of the '09s ending in April of 2009, about a month of retooling during May, and deliveries of the '10 models to dealers in time for the summer 2010 season. Anything earlier/more aggressive than this would be unwarranted in my opinion, even with the Camaro and Challenger coming on.
Remember, they are going to be launching the 2010 Mustang into the teeth of a recession, and consumer sentiment is pretty low right now. I don't expect this to turn around within the next year. So even if they do delay the 2010, it's not like they'll be missing a lot of sales. But depending on who gets elected this fall, the general mood of America may improve at some point next year if the country as a whole has more hope and confidence in the new administration.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict the opposite of what everyone seems to be saying/thinking...the '09 model year will be a normal to even long (!!) run with the 2010 model showing up in later summer/early fall next year.
