Snub nose "shorty" antenna?

Wondering if anybody knows where I can get a "cap" or tiny 1-2" antenna for the 2011 Mustang.
Personally I'd rather just unscrew the stock antenna and then put a screw in cap in it's place, since I don't ever listen to FM anyway (who does when there is Sirius and Ipods)?

So to get rid of the antenna sticking up out of the back quarter panel I'd like to either put a cap in it's place or just a much smaller antenna that doesn't stick up so much.

Anybody know if there are options out there?

Thanks

We have been cutting down OEM antenna's for a long time. I don't know why you couldn't do it on the 2010+ rear mounted antenna as well.

the only 'shorter' one I've came across is bbr's.

It's not the typical 3 foot RC car antenna used on the 05-09's. It has a different shape throughout and as it is- is only about a foot.

Haven't looked at the Mustang one specifically, but if it's the typical Ford antenna with the rubber nib on the end, unscrew it, dip the rubber end in boiling hot water to loosen the rubber cap, slip it off, cut the whip to whatever length you want, reheat the cap in hot water again and squeeze it back on the end. Worked for my Focus.

The other solution could be to get a socket head screw (if it screws into the base) and then put a rubber vaccuum cap on it (you can get them from auto parts stores). If it's the base that's male then put the cap on the stud.

Thanks guys for the suggestions.
The BBR shorty isn't really that much shorter to be honest.
I may have to look into the suggestions Sparky made.

IMO - That was not one of Ford's better ideas.

Take the whole antenna out and get the hole filled at a body shop, then get a hidden antenna to mount inside just in case you did need the on-air reception.

Yeah right, very costly option to say the least. if we could've have had an antenna delete option, that would've been the first box checked in my case. That and the sirius satellite wart.

yes I would of preferred the FM antenna delete too.
The Sirius antenna I don't mind, after decades of huge FM antennas, the Sirius antenna is a complete and utter blessing. Plus, I've been using Satellite radio since 2003 and it's SO MUCH better than the annoying FM and all the commercials and same old songs with limited selection.
So the little Sirius antenna is so worth it. Just wish they'd of done like some other cars I've had do and painted it the same as the car.

Guess it depends on how bad you want it gone.

You could just make a flat plug for the hole and paint it body color if you didn't want to go to the expense of the pro body work. Had a buddy that did this to his old vette to get rid of the luggage rack off the deck, except it took 6 plugs to fill all the holes. Barely noticeable unless you were looking for it.

Used one of these on my 06 mustang GT and will likely get for my 11. Can't imagine they changed the fit after 09.

Looking at antennae on 10-11 may not fit after all...

Now that's what I'm looking for.
But you are right, probably does not fit the 10 and 11 otherwise I'm sure they'd advertise it as such.
They need to get on to making one that fits the 10/11 asap. Cuz they'll me placing an order for it.

Just got this in the mail yesterday it's a very nice piece, too bad I don't have the car to put it on yet.
Supposidly you don't lose any reception with it but I can't verify that yet.

Why is there even an antennae needed? My Acura and Bimmer both use a glass imprinted antenna.
No problems with reception and way nicer than the antenna on my new Stang.
I like the retro look, but not when it comes to an ugly antenna.

I sure hope both the AM/FM and Sirius antennas look better on the 2013/2014 redesign.
