Skip Shift in Canadian cars?

I thought I read somewhere that there was no skip shift in Canadian cars. Is that correct? I only had mine a week before I garaged it for winter so didn't get a chance to try it out.

I have a Canadian car and I have skip shift (until the spring when I order a BAMA tune and Airaid CAI). Until then, my car's in the garage and I just get to look at it. I last drove it Nov.13th, but it seems like months ago. It's going to be a long, long winter. So sad!

Atleast you guys got to drive yours a bit...mines being delivered at the end of the month or beginning of next month so the only driving I get to do is from the dealership to the garage

I have a Canadian car as well. Skip Shift is definetly there but although I see the message come on often, it very rarely forces me to go to forth. Also did not do it till I had at least 1000K;s on. Not sure if it was my driving style (heavy foot) or overall break in thing. I have the 3.73 's and easy to rev her up!!

Also, sadly mine is stored in my garage till spring.

Definitely skip shift on the Canadian GT cars.

PS. hey your car (2011 Sterling GT vert, Brembo brake package, cloth roof, backup camera) looks very familiar to me! Except the backup camera, wish I had that but wasnt an option with the pedestal spoiler.

I can agree with the others - it does have skip shift. But after you learn the shifter and hammer 2nd gear it never comes on

Also - I decided (or was forced ) to drive my 5.0 this winter. I just bought some Michelin Alpin PA3's (http://www.1010tires.com/tire.asp?ti...ilot+Alpin+PA3) and they are outstanding in the cold/snow.

Ditto what everyone already said. I have a Canadian model and skip shift is there, but it never actually forces you into 4th, however i've noticed a couple times I end up in 4th because the skip shift makes the 1-4 shift seem so natural that you think you're going to 2nd, then all of a sudden you're at 1000rpm and you realize you've been punked.

Same thing happens with mine. The display flashes alot, but i've only been forced into 4th a handfull of times. Maybe my skip shift is lazy?

My last day was Nov. 10th...And indeed it will be a long winter. Springtime is going to rock! It will be like the first time driving it again!

x2. Sneaky bugger isn't it? The throws are very close.

I think that by the time the display registers in your brain, there's a pause in your shifting that is just enough delay to allow the system to be now outside the skip-shift parameters. Another trick, if you feel it guiding you to 4th, is to leave the clutch in and select 3rd before releasing the clutch. At least better than being in 4th.
On another thread someone has said you can disconnect the solenoids on the trans tunnel underneath and tape 'em up without any codes or lights. Anybody tried it yet?

Cheers.
