Sirius Radio

Does anyone know where the stock Sirius Radio is located in a 2011 Mustang GT?

I assume it is in the dashboard, right behind the buttons and *****, like any normal radio . . . are you asking because you looked and it is not there?

I just installed the NAVOS unit. The plug they sent plugs directly into the SIRIUS radio, not into the wire harness. I was hoping not to have to take the entire harness apart to find the radio.

hmmmm . . . I assumed the Sirius radio was integrated into the rest of the radio/head unit, but maybe it is a separate box, I don't know . . . ????

either way, I'd be looking in the dashboard, don't know where else to look

Welcome to the forums!

Ok, you're sorta in luck.... in as much as the 2011 Mustang shop manual is online.

The wiring diagrams for all audio systems:
https://iihs.net/fsm/?d=711&f=130%20...ation.pdf&p=14

The antenna location and procedure to replace it.
(This is the hockey puck on the trunk)
(It is a combo GPS/SDARS antenna. If'n you don't know what SDARS is, join the club, but I learnt it means Satellite Digitial Audio Radio Service... aka SiriusXM's antenna)
https://iihs.net/fsm/?d=1015&f=Anten...0Radio.pdf&p=2

The antennal cable procedures:
https://iihs.net/fsm/?d=1015&f=Anten...0Radio.pdf&p=2

The Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) which may or may not be important...?
https://iihs.net/fsm/?d=1015&f=Acces...(APIM).pdf&p=2

The Global Positioning System Module (GPSM)
https://iihs.net/fsm/?d=1015&f=Globa...(GPSM).pdf&p=2

The Audio Control Module
https://iihs.net/fsm/?d=1015&f=Audio...0(ACM).pdf&p=2

With all that, it appears that any Sirius module has been integrated into the 2011 audio unit, near as I can tell.

HOWEVER... I went to the 2005 version of things, and guess what? It's separate. I'm guessing that's true on up to, oh, 2008 or 9 maybe? But anyway, it's shown as a separate system in that manual...

Wiring diagram showing separate system module for Satellite Radio:
https://iihs.net/fsm/?d=40&f=Audio%2...gation.pdf&p=5

What's more interesting is the thing's in the '05 manual at all. Means they were meaning to get that in, but it didn't happen until late '07 if I remember correctly? In any event, this may explain things. Here's the rest of the stuff:

Sameish hockey puck:
https://iihs.net/fsm/?d=381&f=Antenn...te%20Radio.pdf

The separate receiver, located in the trunk on the passenger side, which ostensibly would be behind the Shaker 1000 amp if installed.
https://iihs.net/fsm/?d=377&f=Satell...20Receiver.pdf

So it appears that extra harness is not meant for your car, but for a previous S197 system... But that's completely a guess from waaaay over here in my armchair at my computer, and you might wanna contact the people who made the thing as to what's up.

Still, hope it helps anyway!
