Wow, MSRP of North of $40K for a GT, never thought I would see the day... I bought my first mustang in 2001, a GT for just over $21K, I think the MSRP was near $23K.... In 2009, I picked up a new GT 500 with 18 miles on it as the 2010 were hitting the show room for $36K. Wow, are times a changing!
My 2001 GT was in the $21k-$23k range as well.

I wanted Candy Red but the eggheads at Ford wouldn't let me have it. They offered this combo in 2010, but not 2011. Perhaps there is a compatibility problem with the new engines and the candy red paint color

MSRP
I was thinking the same, and then I contacted the other ford dealers around me and all of a sudden they were offering me $500 above invoice, so I took itto my Ford dealer and said these dealerships are offering this what are you going to do, and the car was 37,575 msrp got it knocked down to invoice.....so if you have any other dealers in your area you can use them for leverage...

I paid $300 under invoice. This dealer is the only one in my area though as the others ask MSRP or mark ups. Im very lucky to have found this dealer and will never go any were else as i have had paid MSRP before.

If they then tack on the doc fee, yeah, that kind of makes you foolish. They're going to make a nice tidy profit on this one and there's no reason to stick you with the extra fees. MSRP is for Saturn. Look where that got them.

No insults intended but paying MSRP for a non limited production vehicle is insane. Unless you just have to be the first guy on your block to own one there are much better deals available. That being said, if you are happy with the car and your deal, be happy and don't worry about it.

I got them more for function than looks, but it did help seeing them in person on a few 2010 GT's before I placed my order. Did not actually get to see them with Kona Blue though, so I kind of winged it a bit.
