Should I worry ?

I ordered my 2011 Mustang GT on 4/12 and my dealer say they have no info yet on my order! I called Ford today and gave them my name and dealer #, they are saying there is no scheduled build or delivery date in the computer yet! They told me that it probably won't be scheduled until the end of May, but I have noticed that some on here have ordered around the same date and already have their build dates and delivery dates! Should I worry about mine?

They seem to be scheduling higher volume dealers first. And at some point they are going to slow down on pre-orders and pump out a whole bunch of dealer stock, so if you are after that point, it could be a while.

I'm not convinced they have even started on pre-orders. Many who placed orders back in January and February still have no scheduled date nor any idea of when they will get scheduled dates, myself included.

Scott, I'm hoping that they schedule the retails this week, with yours being one of them. I'm just waiting for them to do this on Friday as thats when I see VIN numbers.

It all seems to be dealer specific. Perhaps it's because of volume. Perhaps the dealer dropped the ball. There are plenty of people on this board that have VINs for their cars.

Yes you should worry. I would recommend seeing a therapist who can help you through this difficult time in your life.

Just remember that the first job of those reps is too keep you feeling good about your order with Ford. They really don't have any inside info other than what is on their screen. I've had three different reps tell me the same thing almost word for word. Pretty sure they are reading off a script.

I've learned that any date they tell you is an average estimate and the new release of the 5.0's is nothing like average.

This isn't a rip on Ford, just the the truth.

You guys that ordered in jan and feb should have something by now.

I would call the 800 number and give them your info and see when the order was entered.

Although it could be that you all ordered some option that nobody else did.

Yup, the E in ETA still stands for estimate. I'd like to know exactly what day I can pick up my car but I'm not going to call up every day and ask the same question. Think of it like having a baby. The doctor gives you an ETA but it could be ten days on either side.

As long as it's not during playoff hockey or football, I'm good with that.

My GF and I used to switch nights on who got up with our baby daughter (2007). The first game of the playoffs when the Wings were on the west coast and the game started at 10:30pm just happened to be my night to get up with my daughter. Now I figured the game would be over by 1am and then my daughter would be up at 2am and I wouldn't get any sleep before 3am.

My daughter is obviously a hockey fan because that was the first night she slept all night.
