I'd keep the '10 and buy a new Mustang in a few years, if you must. Unless something goes terribly wrong, I imagine the Mustang is only going to get better and even if they don't you could probably just buy a nice used 5.0 for a good price.

If I had a 2010, I would not bother with a 2011 primarily because the (streetable) "Boss" is likely coming in 2012... To me, that or another (performance) special edition would be worth the lost equity (performance ie. Bullitt, Mach or GT500/Cobra).

Otherwise wait for the 50th anniversary edition or the next redesign.

Your 2010 can run with or out run a 2011 with some mods. Expect to pay more for things in the Ford Racing catalog if you're worried about that factory warm & fuzzy feeling... or research and find out what aftermarket companies Ford Racing used for those components and buy them for less in most cases (Borla axle-backs being the only exception that comes to mind)

"For someone with a pre-2010 Mustang I could see it because then you're not just upgrading to a new engine and transmission, you're getting the beautiful new interior with Sync (at least if it's Premium)."

Unfortunately, you also get an ugly rear end.

That comment was old and tired in 2009.

He has a dated, old news car with a huge, fat, square rear end. He feels insecure.

I think there are some good answers here . . . and I agree that trading it in just to get--what?--97 horsepower is cost ineffective. The numbers are ALWAYS going to go up. Well, almost always. You might just live with the power discrepancy for awhile and see what happens. On the other hand, you can always tweak the 4.6, as some have suggested. But even if you supercharge it and wind up with 400 hp . . . what are you going to do when you're sitting side by side with a Z06 at a stoplight? The 2010 is a nice car. Bide your time for a year. THEN see what's out there!

I got an "appraisal" for my 2010 Mustang GT BASE... They were willing to give me AT MOST $15,000 @ 10,000 Miles....

Not worth it... Although the 2011's now have $1500 rebates...

$15K, that's laughable. You have the upgraded interior so, just get a blower and you'll have it all. Unless money is no object. If that's the case, then order one of these bad boys.

5 different dealers throughout California... I'm searching for a 6MT '11 Base GT in Kona Blue... No dice. =[

Edit: Meanwhile.... I'm keeping my 2010. =] I want to throw a KB on there.

I would keep what you have right now and maybe trade up in a couple of years. Up until the horsepower wars begun with the camaro and Challenger hitting the scene 315 hp was a lot of power. I love my 10 and my only real regret is not getting a more user friendly color such as silver or sterling grey. I drove a 5.0 a few months ago and could tell a difference but by the time I could really notice I was already 30 mph over the posted speed limit. The only way I would sell mine right now is if gas prices get to where I cant afford to drive mine on a daily basis.

i have a 2010 i got in august 09, i was thinking about trading up in the summer to a '12, but then that will just delay when i can get my hands on one of the all new models so im just gonna hold out with "only" 315hp. such suffering

If you owe nothing on the '10 why not keep it and buy a new 5.0 or even a BOSS 302?

I agree with the majority here and say keep the '10. I absolutely love mine. I've been enjoying it for 22 months now and have not regretted my purchase. The 5.0 is sweet, there's no denying that, but keep your one year only car and wait for the 2014 to see what is offered. Since it is my daily driver I don't always use the 315hp but it is enough to make me smile every time I do!
