This may sound like sour grapes coming from a guy who's going to be tooling around San Antonio in a 650bhp GT500 in about 3-4 months, but RIDICULOUS!!
As someone said, the car needs to be made lighter and steadier, not have more hp stuffed under the hood. At what point does the hp become unusable? I will wager that I probably only use all 650bhp (putting my foot through the floor) a handful of times in my life while owning the car, because that much power will break the car loose at half throttle from a dead stop. Can you imagine trying to drive that thing on a wet road? The rears need to be much wider to handle that kind of power, too. Might as well have Model-T rubber on the back end.
For that price, I'd look into a gently used Ferrari or Ford GT.

Mustang 1000
So I just read an article on carrbuzz.com.......can you say shelby......mustang......1000hp.......now put it all together. It starts around 54,000 fot the gt500 then a cool 120-140,000 more to make it into what you see below. They are also coming out with the 950hp street legal version. Should be at the NY auto show soon. What do you guys think?
Edit-app wont let me up load pics ill post after work

1000bhp and 3.8 seconds to 60? The '13 GT500 does it in 3.7 (with a good driver) off the showroom floor. I would expect more from a car that costs that much.

Naw, I just appreciate old school raw power beasts. Railroads do interest me, though.
You want to talk coaling? - diesel trucks are *pshaw* - this is coaling!

Once the landscape surrounding railroads were burnt with embers or covered with soot to the point it was barren. I also appreciate the cool factor when something pushing 6K+ HP with 135K+ pounds of torque (tractive effort) and weighs as much as an office building or two rolls by at 80+ MPH.
