Question Shaking during braking

For a while now I have had a vibration felt through the car and steering wheel when braking which got a little worse (I think) over the past few days.

Well I took the car in to the dealers and got them to drive it and they agreed it seemed to be a front rotor issue (Brembo pack). They removed and inspected the rotors. They were a lttle off and seemed to have areas of discolouration like rust that wasn't removed under braking.

They turned them and removed 3 thousandths off each rotor, 2 thou didn't quite do it, 3 got them even. Braking is now smooth (how I thought it should have been).

Just curious if anyone else is having or had a similar problem?

You had warped rotors. How many miles were on the car?

I've got about 5100 miles on my car with the Brembo package and the breaks are still smooth like butter. Curious to see if others have the issue.

Did you ever rotate wheels or have the front wheels off for any reason? Could be from wrong torquing of the lugs.

The first problems I had was at 1200 miles which was put down to being a stone(s) in the caliper (see https://themustangsource.com/f726/wa...lready-490321/ )

However the problem never really went away fully and I put it down to a combination of tires (winter), road, ABS etc. It started to get worse as I say this week. The car had 2400 miles on it when they reworked the rotors.

Now super smooth braking ZERO vib's etc exactly what I had expected from the get go.

No I picked it up with the snows on it and the problem started at 1200 miles without ever rotating or removing wheels.

Just excess pad deposits throwing the rotor out of balance. It happens.

Yup...99% of the time this is the issue, NOT warped rotors.
Go out and re-bed those suckers!

Brake related.. my V6 PP squeaks when slowing down. And when slowing to a stop or close to a stop from low speed, I can hear my brakes groaning. Took it to dealer once, they said my brake pads were glazed over from overheating them (never put the brakes to the extreme before, so I seriously doubt it). They applied some type of chemical solution and said they "fixed it." On the way home, the squeaking came back, and later, the groaning too.

Any insight on this?

I don't know if they are still using the same materials, but on my '05 V6, I had to switch to ceramic brake pads to get the squealing of the brakes to stop.

The dealership replaced the OEM pads once, which helped for a little while. They told me that brakes are just noisier now that asbestos can't be used. When I said I wanted ceramic instead, the service manager was kind of snippy about it, telling me that there was no guarantee that it would work. It worked. And I don't go to that service department anymore.
