So every once in a while my stereo will make a loud pop sound and then my radio will turn off and no buttons will work. Sometimes it's just momentarily, sometimes it lasts for days. Any idea what may be causing This? I am going to replace it with the idatalink dash kit with a pioneer radio. Will this fix the issue? Any help would be appreciated

 

It would depend on where the problem lies. If it's the head unit, it should fix it. If it is in the car's wiring, the problem will still be there.

 

Try better RCA cables.
