Shaker 1000 Reviews?
Who here has Shaker 1000 systems, and how do you like them?
How do they compare to the Shaker 500 and is it worth it to you?
Thoughts, comments, and any problems with it, please let me know...
I'm on the fence, and trying to decide if to throw it in my package...
Thanks in advance

I dont have a 2010, so I'm not sure you want my opinion, but I love mine. Is it worth the extra money though?? I dont know what they are going for on the new mustangs, but it wasnt too awefull an upgrade on my 2006 when I got it, so I went with it.
I do know my trunk space does suffer slightly due to the size of the deal out back. I am currently in the process of upgrading it with the 'shelby sound package' offered on shelby's site where the sub in the trunk is replaced with a much smaller one but has a ton better output for $1300 along with better speakers and the like.
If you think you'd ever want to upgrade it, I'd say no, dont get it and just put the money straight towards the upgrade. If its something you think you'd keep, then I'd do it. My brothers '05 didnt have it and when driving his, I really didnt notice THAT much of a difference, but I didnt crank it up either.
Hope that helps at least a little...

My '06 had the 500 and my '07 has the 1000.
I would use the extra cash to get something aftermarket. You can probably get something as good or better, plus it can be set up better. You lose a chunk of space in the trunk with the 1000.

My 2010 mustang is a base GT so it has the low of the low for stereos. I put 4 Infinity door speakers with and Infinity 475 amp to run them. Then got a Rockford Fosgate P300-1 amp with a 12" Rockford Fosgate sub in a custom box put in the passanger corner of the trunk.
After I had it all put in and sounding good i took it to a mustang meet where there was a few friends with the shaker 1000 and we all thought my little $750 stereo from ebay was way better!

Yeah, but Where did you put that 475 amp to run them? And another Rockford Fosgate P-amp with that sub? Problem is, this equipment has to go somewhere!? The Shaker 1000 is nice and compact in the back trunk. The amp is behind the speakers, I think- right? correct me if I'm wrong.
I do have a quick question for people that own it. Can you remove it in the future if you wanted to? The amp and speaker setup in the trunk...
My whole thing is-
I don't want to add amps, and figure out where to put them and all. I also dont want some aftermarket installer touching my vehicle-
I'm going to have to hear it myself. I like Classic Rock, and probaby will take a few CD's to a local dealer here in Tampa who has a couple of Shaker 1000's in a couple GT500's, both KR's.
I don't want to waste too much time with Stereo equipment, but I want a really great sound. The Shaker 500 is nice, and I'm on the fence here.
I'm trying to decide between Glass Roof or Shaker 1000- I'm sorta leaning towards the Glass Roof. I dont really know if I need or want both...

Honestly it's personal taste. There should be a decent amount with a 1000 in dealer lots (05-10's). So try it out...
I have the 1000 in my 2010, and love it. I am not a die-hard audiophile... Nor is the average person, but common sense tells you what sounds good- and to me the clarity and sound is there, even more so when I adjust the settings properly. And it most definitely is a kicking system if you have the bass on the highest setting... ridiculous.
And sure, there is always something better out there that could be installed and blah blah blah... but I found the 1000 suits my needs and have zero regret buying it. Plus it depends on what sort of music you listen to... as the real issue may lie in the speakers and swapping those. Also the trunk space it takes up isn't a deal breaker for me either, but the added system weights about 25lbs... And it's a Mustang, half the time I listen to the exhaust, rather than view it like a mobile audio system...
With all that being said, for some reason it wasn't working properly this past week (not sure why), so I took it into the dealer they ordered a new one and I'm getting it installed tomorrow.

My 03 ram has 2 10" subs with a 500 watt amp, and its sounds way better and louder than my shaker 1000.
I Honestly was expecting alot more out of it but oh well. For a factory deck it's probably better than others.

My thought was this:
Order the 1000 so I won't have to add aftermarket stuff which forces you to take panels off to hide wires, fool around with the head unit, take up trunk space, etc.
I for one am not going to be ripping apart my brand new car to put another sub in the trunk. I've listened to the 1000 in a 2010 I took out for a rip and it thumps just fine.

Man. Maybe you guys don't know what good sound is.
Yes, EP > S1000. That is truth. And Glass Roof > S1000. Also truth. Shaker 1000 is garbage. Ok maybe if it were a $300 option, it would be worth it. But at $1300 it is NOT worth it.

Plus, many a time, the mp3 file is what allows for more clarity and crispness to begin with, so you're already in a uphill fight.
For everyday usage, the average "non audiophile", aka a person not obsessed with high-fidelity sound reproduction... Which shockingly enough, many people are... The 1000 is very suitable.

What is the deal with adding an aftermarket head unit to the new console/dash design in the 2010+ cars? Is the factory head unit with the Shaker 500/Base Stereo good enough to add good speakers/amp/sub and have a good sounding system?
Thanks!
Thanks!
