I saw this storm on cbc last night...looks like you where not alone...yikes!...i see dealers are selling damaged cars off lots for discounts...

wonder where you even start to try and fix this type damage? i think i would try dent remove guys first (way less bondo) and then perhaps repaint?

best of luck...im sure in no time you'll have your baby back good as new...

ps: rem you can always move out west to vanc...we golf in jan/feb ;-)

Sorry about your new car. Those pics make me sick, especially on a black car. As others have suggested, a good PDR person should be able to tell you if they can fix the dents and be able to get you back on the road sooner. The aluminum hood is more challenging to repair than steel. There's no way I'd let a body shop repair all this damage if a PDR shop can do all or most of it. Your car won't be the same if a body shop repairs it. If you can avoid having the car repainted it will not affect the value.

Hopefully the repairs go quickly and painlessly.
I know what you mean. I work downtown and I have to walk my a Ford dealership (Metro Ford) on the way to my parking lot - and every new F150 in the lot has hail damage! That's when I knew I was screwed with my car.

Thanks - and thanks to everyone for the "condolences" .

It has been tough - but it happened to thousands of people in Calgary so I'm not the only one. (A girl that parks beside me in my lot has a BMW 6 series - brand new - and all her windows were smashed in ).

Insurance is covering everything - but because of the amount of claims being filed - they are making everyone go to one of their "authorized" body shops. So i don't get to choose who fixes the stang. Usually I do get a choice, but not this time.

I'll post pics when she's fixed up!!

I'm feeling a bit of your pain. Found my car keyed this morning. All three panels on the left side. 500$ deductible out the window too.

Just out of curiousity, are they going to do PDR or repaint the panels?

Reason I ask; I'd be very adamant about having them PDR your brand new vehicle anywhere that there isn't paint damage. Repainted panels rarely come out right, and with them dictating the repair shop, I'd be more leery of it already.

People who key cars should be shot on sight. I would at least tie them up and do a burnout on their hand. They won't be keying anyone else's car ever again.

financialpanther, sorry to read about your weather caused damage.

PTRocks, also sorry to read about your damage...caused by vermin.

Hope the cars are repaired as good, or better, than new!

Yeah, that worked well for the Olympics.

Beautiful country up that way though. . .

Tell them to go F themselves.......you pay for the insurance, you DEMAND PDR. An ex girlfriend of mine had a brand new black Civic when I still had my '01 Cobra. Of course I wasnt going to drive that in the storm!! So i drove her car and got caught in a MF'er of a storm. Your dents were childs-play in comparison (not to minimize). Took it through insurance to PDR...the car was absolutely flawless.....including the roof. It will amaze you what a good PDR company can do. And I inspected it like it was a Bentley. Could never tell anything happened.

I can't imagine how bad you must feel. I was at work in the southeast when it came down. It wasn't as bad here, but I was still thankful my 5.0 was in the garage at home. My sincere sympathy!

I've been entertaining such ideas for a good part of the afternoon.

When I dropped by the police station to report it tonight, the cop at the counter remembered having admired my car. He said it was one of three groups of people who would've done it, and that he'd make them pay...

That's about all the satisfaction I could hope for I guess.
