Rotor Help

I ordered 4 rotors from AM that just arrived today, the outer box is semi ripped and beat up. The rotors inside are individually packaged in thin cardboard box, all rotors has alittle chip like the pictures below. These pics are not my rotors but they have the same damage. Another thing i noticed is the vented vane in the rotors some have a line in the middle not sure if its cracked or weld point.

Looks like returns or something . A few months ago I ordered the same (maybe) style rotors and pads from American Muscle but made for my 2011 v6, they were in perfect condition

I don't see anything there to be super concerned about; but it is annoying to receive damaged brand new parts . . . up to you if you want to make the effort to return them, or keep them and don't worry about it too much.

if you do keep them, make sure there are no bumps sticking up that would affect how the wheel mounts to the hub/rotor; if so I'd file it down flush.

would this be a concern? not sure if its from manufacturing process, got couple vent vane center crack like this and this crack appearance running down. If the package(70+lbs) was dropped, will there be unseen damage i need to worry about?

I only play metal smith on the interweb so take that for what it is worth. i would not worry about that either.

Are you attempting a world championship title run on these? If not don't worry about a few metal imperfections. It's the rotor thickness that counts, and these are fine in that regard. What Burt said and others.

Even with these surface cracks the rotor still has plenty of life left in it.

Took a better picture, it seems crack wrapped around on one side. On this rear rotor i noticed these lines not sure if its crack but on the other one much only a few lines. I just want to be sure these are just cosmetic issues, dont really want to go through the hassle of returning and waiting for the new ones. I have a long road trip coming up end of the month just want to be safe.

hmmm . . . not sure about the "cracks" because I can't tell if they are only on the surface . . . in any case I doubt they were caused by damage in shipping/handling . . . my guess is they are probably no big deal, but if you are not comfortable with them, it does seem like a reasonable reason to return the rotors
