Anyone have drilled rotors?

I had cross drilled and slotted rotors on my '06, but I think I'm going to go with drilled only for my '07. I'm not worried about them cracking since I don't take the car to a track or anything like that. Just wondering if anyone has pictures of a Mustang with only drilled rotors. Rotorpros quoted me $350 shipped for both front and rear sets with ceramic pads.

If you won't great stopping power, Hawk HPS pads work beautifully. I currently run Powerslot slotted rotors and HP+ pads all around with stainless lines and I can honestly say for the price this system cost me to build I'm extremely happy with the system. It works beautifully on the track, too.

Eventually drilled rotors will form spider cracks. Go slotted.

If I'm just using the car as a daily driver, will drilled rotors still crack? I can't imagine they would considering almost every high end exotic/performance car comes with drilled rotors?

Definitely curious as well, I'll be picking up some drilled/slotted rotors in the near future and I've seen drilled rotors appear standard on a few cars so I imagine they should be safe for the street.

I've used dimpled and slotted before and had no problems.

What most people don't realize is those same cars don't keep their brakes as long as we do. Can drilled rotors crack? Absolutely. Will they ALL the time, its not 100%. It also depends on quality and how you drive. Someone like me with an aggressive driving style and some track time will most definitely. I've had my slotted rotors and HP+ pads for about 18 months and I just ordered my replacement set.

I wish I had a picture but I don't. I had a customer with a 2009 GT-R a while back. At the time the car had about 15k miles on it and the drilled rotors had spidercracks everywhere. Keep in mind these are rotors that brand new will run you $1,400 EACH. They are recommended by Nissan to be replaced at 10k miles.

I personally stick with/sell slotted rotors. To a lot of people they don't look as "cool" as the drilled/slotted, but the functionality is there. Unless you're getting them nice and hot you're honestly not even going to notice the difference except in the "butt dyno".

Appreciate the pictures and info. Would you say drilled rotors would be fine for daily driving? I never track my car and the rotors are only $350 for all 4 plus brake pads.

They should be fine. Keep in mind you won't be braking much better, if at all with basic ceramic pads. If you are more concerned with braking power than appearance I would just pick up some blank rotors and splurge a bit on the pads. Stainless lines are also a great idea to cure the mushy pedal. You should also flush the system and replace the fluid. It gets really nasty.

I have cross drilled and slotted rotors and they stop great. I don't worry about them cracking because I did some research before I made my purchase. Some drilled rotors have holes drilled ***** nilly and they drill into the cooling vanes that hold one side onto the other. This weakens the rotor what you want are quality rotors that are drilled in between the vanes. Before I changed them out the car couldn't stop if my life depended on it but with the new rotors and stainless braided brake lines it's like night and day. OH yeah and don't cheap out on the pads, get Hawks.
