Got a rock chip on my 2013 DIB hood already. Checked online for touch up paint J4 can not find any. Any ideas?

 

It's the "new car curse" everything happens to a brand new car when you first get it. You can only hope, when it does, it's not that bad. lol

Ford should have the touch up.....they have always given me a bottle when I buy a new car.

 

If you go online there are a lot of companies that sell touch up paint. I bought a Kona blue touch up paint pen and a clear coat pen.

X2 on the ford touch up paint. It always matches pretty well. I got a rock chip on my new boss at 500 miles. After that touched it up and had a clear bra installed. These cars seem to chip really easy.

 

Those are the brush on types, right? The ones that ford charges a small fortune for.

 

Think the last one I got from them ran about $15. Need to get some for the Boss

 

Weak paint.

I got some touch-up paint and clear coat from automotivetouchup.com. Perfect color match. The clear coat helps hide the touch-up, but rock chips still stink.

First, ding, dent, chip, out of the way. Now on to enjoying the car. That does suc though.

 

Noticed another rock chip on the passenger side A-Pilar, crap!

 

The first one is the hardest....I've had my 2011 for about 5 months now, driving almost 200 miles round trip a day on the highway. The weekend "dab" on the new chip has become a ritual. Short of buying an ugly bra to help prevent some of it, there's just no avoiding it for me.


I bought my factory touchup paint off of ebay. It's the Ford stuff, shipping was free, and cheaper than my dealer.
