Retrofit Shaker Pro

Anyone done this or considered it?

I could use a little more volume on my Shaker 500 but I'm afraid of going third party because I tend to get carried away.

Incidentally if I were going to do that, I'd probably go JL Stealthbox and use the 500/1 I have in storage. But I was wondering if there's a no-drill factory solution.

Doesn't look like the Shaker Pro parts are that expensive, anyone tried it? What do you need?

^^+1 on this....was wondering the same thing.
I had the 1000 in my previous '07 and it was adequate.
I searched a little online but didn't get anything definitive.

Hopefully, someone chimes in to answer you with details.

I looked on AutoNation (online Ford dealer with great prices on almost any stock part) to find the stock subwoofer and parts... couldn't find them.

Would like to know how to order the stock subwoofer (rather than purchasing it used off eBay).

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I have to say that the situation is made more complicated by the fact that they switched from Shaker 1000 to Shaker Pro in 2013 (I think). I would say at a minimum this conversion would require:

1. The sub
2. The amp
3. The bracket (which I believe attaches both the sub and amp to the body)
4. Attaching hardware
5. Cutaway trunk mat
6. Wiring harness?

Anyone who has part numbers please chime in so we can get cost info.

It's really difficult to tell the Shaker 1000 from Pro parts on eBay (this is important because we don't really know that the 1000 parts are compatible). But I did see a mutilated Pro sub on eBay and one of the photos had this part number: DR3T-19A067-AB. Could be an engineering part number instead of retail part number, but that's all I know for now. I don't have a fantastic rapport with my dealer's parts department so I'm a little timid to enlist their help.

I think the deal breaker is if you need a new body wiring harness. That would be way more invasive than running a new supply wire for an aftermarket amp and finding a spot for it.

Well, you should! Those are premium parts and I'd do it, but...How invasive was your install?

As of yet I haven't needed to drill a single hole for any mods I've done and they're all completely reversible. Where'd you put the 500/1?

The pro sub dont know if that the full enclosere with sub http://www.tascaparts.com/auto-parts...nd-system-scat

Also you can have someone make a mount on the spare tire area if you dont use it to mount an amp

Not invasive. Since I decided to mount AMP on back of seat .. there are 4 small screw holes. The SUB itself uses existing bolts and holes from what I recall.

Sure looks like it. Also I do have a spare tire, that was my first mod after tint and clear bra.

Wonder if I could mount the amp to the sub. Are you using the stock head with an lc2i or did you go aftermarket there too?

Stock head unit (Navigation) with a line out converter wired into the SUB OUT wires in front of the factory AMP.

I have this same stealthbox in my basement waiting to be installed. I also have a JL Audio 500/1 mono amp and Audio Control L2Ci(?) converter. What did you do to your trunk mat? Did you have to cut around the base of the subwoofer, or is it just folded under the subwoofer?

I would love to move my shaker pro sub where the amp is located in the picture above. I can't get my golf clubs in back without taking all the woods out of the bag and laying them across the top. I wonder if that's possible or if it screws up the sound.

I bought a shaker 1000 off ebay and installed in in my 12 GT without much of a hassle. It actually ended up being pretty easy. I bought a pig tail for the power amp and tapped the remote power on, +/- wires to the same ones on the back of the head unit that power the door subs. Then just ran a direct power feed to the battery. I upgraded to a 14 GT a year later and moved it over the the new car. That was a little trickier as ford switched to DSP power amps and changed the way the door sub is controlled. I had ford enter the "as-built" data from another 14 GT's VIN that had a shaker pro. Bought a new pig tail for the head unit and connect the same wires as above to the outputs of the shaker pro on the head unit. So now I have a factory installation but with a shaker 1000 sub not the actual smaller shaker pro cabinet that should be in my 14. If I ever find a good deal on a shaker pro sub I'll switch it over just to have the real factory set up. All in all I got a shaker sub set up for under 300 vs for charging 1500.00.

Really, you needed the AsBuilt data from another car? That's surprising. I suppose it had to activate the subwoofer volume feature.

I'm not sure I'd rather do that than just go aftermarket then. I was hoping you just plug it in and go.

BTW, did you go with an aftermarket power amp or the shaker pro, or shaker 1000 or what?

Correct, the AsBuilt was required to enable the sub output pins on the head unit. Dealer only charged me 40.00 to do it so it was worth to have a factory setup. Again this is only for 13/14's. 10's through 12's can just tap off the door sub pins on the head unit.
