It's all about finding some little used streets on a Sunday afternoon.

Enlighten me, Marine. I'm curious as to why those boots are being worn both out of uniform and off base.

Because the boots are not uniform specific and are allowed to be worn out of uniform

Then they've changed the regs. Guess the new Marine Corps is going Hollywood!

Because you can wear non specific uniforms items out of uniform? This has been in place for at the very least a decade, but if memory serves me correctly it's been far longer than that

Those boots were uniform-specific when I wore them. They were not to be worn without the desert camo uniforms, no exceptions. As I said, the regs must have changed.

We can wear the ICB's with either deserts or woodland marpat, same goes for Jungles, Bates lights, and all the Danners that really aren't either of the standard issue, whether we are in uniform or not. This is the same situation as wearing a wooly pully without insignia. Allowed? Yes. Looks boot as hell? Absolutely. I won't even bother with how I ended up with those as my only wearable shoes at that given point in time.

I had an awesome opportunity on a trip with the new GT500 to start learning how to properly use my camera, among other things...

No offense to your car, because it's a friggin' beast, but that scenery steal the show in those pics. It's a hell of a combo.

Where was this taken? I'm doing a cross-country trip this summer in my Stang and I'm looking forward to getting back out West and having scenery like that to frame my Mustang-**** shots.

Thank you, sir. I love the scenery as well, and the beast takes no offense.

It is as you enter the west side of Death Valley National Park coming from Panamint Valley on Highway 190 in California.

I had to do some very, very careful off-roading to get some of those shots.
