Rented a 2010 V6 this past weekend. . .
It was a white, auto, saddle leather, V6, Sync/Sirius.
I have to say I was impressed by the interior but that was about it. The saddle leather was MUCH nicer than I expected and it had contrasting white stitching. The motor was uninspiring and the transmission mostly begged to be left alone. All of this much like a rental car which seems appropriate since I was renting it.
If this was my only experience driving a Mustang I'd conclude, "Meh, Mustangs are nothing special." But since I drove the V6 2011, I can definitely say the new model is leaps and bounds better than its predecessor. I drove mostly highway miles and fuel economy was quite good for the old truck motor in the mid-to-high 20's. It just wasn't compelling.
Fit and finish were excellent. The car had 10,400 rental miles on it and I've seen cars with less look more beat up. I put just over 200 miles on it and half a tank of gas.
Rear seat room was, well, not fit for humans above about 4'6" and 80 pounds. The 'vert must be a huge PITA.
Still, I enjoyed my time with the car and beat it like the rented mule it was.
P.S. Don't buy used rental white Mustangs with saddle interiors in Wisconsin. . . (Just sayin')

Good to hear about the Saddle leather. I've ordered a Kona Blue GT with Saddle leather and I've never seen it in person. Saddle looks very nice in pictures, so I hope I'm happy with it. I've grown tired of all black interiors and need a change.
My parents are getting set to take a road trips from Nor Cal to the Dakotas and are thinking about renting a Mustang for it. They rent cars all the time for road trips, so our local rental places usually get them what they ask for. They're going to try for a 2011.
When the front seats are all the way back, I agree that room is limited.
For the record, I have sat in the back of SN-95 Mustangs and thought they were much more cramped compared to the S197s.
Did you actually try to sit there? I am 6'2" and 215 lbs and can fit in the back seat if the person in front of me moves the seat about half-way along the travel. While I would not want to sit there for an 8-hr trip, I would be able to be driven around town in a pinch.

I was driving.
Where did you rent it ... I need to find a 2010 with Saddle interior to rent ... so I can swap my Black interior for the Saddle befor I return it ... I bet they would never notice ...
Was the 6'3 dude fat? I mean, I'm 6'1 and it's plenty of space for me in the front and the back wasn't THAT bad. So were you carrying two fatties?
Anyways, the first time I read this post I was surprised and dissapointed because I didn't notice it said 2010 V6 . . . . had to do a double-take . . .
Yeah, I rented one too, and I was quite unimpressed; the one I rented had the base interior . . . though the fit and finish was pretty good like you say.
Gladly the 2010 GT Premium is a completely different animal, as is the 2011 V6 Premium.
Yes, I am serious and I am able to hold my head straight.

I sat in the back of a 2010 GT about a month ago. There was enough space with the front seat about half way up. My head did touch the ceiling just barely. I'm 6 feet even. Cramped, but definitely usable for short hauls.
I have a 2010 V6 Convert, Ive sat in back alot, since I wasent allowed in front with airbag and seatbelt safety issues after heart surgery. I am 5 ft 8 190 and fit ok. as long as front seat was moved up..
The funny thing was Madision, WI was a hotter marathon than my San Antonio, TX marathon. . . (I run a lot of them... and before anyone asks, all marathons are 26.2 miles. Anything less isn't a marathon.)
The Saddle contrasts with the black interior very nicely. I think getting black seats would just be too much inside the cabin. Nice to have some contrast.
You won't be disappointed. I've got the Saddle interior in my white GT. It looks awesome. The white stitching makes the seats look like they were in a much more expensive car. Definitely some of the nicest seats I've seen.

I'm not a fan of saddle or tan or beige or mauve or taupe in cars. Never have been but I know it's a very popular option. In this case, the saddle color actually grew on me and made me feel like I was driving a much nicer car. Would I buy it? Nope. Just not my cup of tea. But would I recommend against it? Definitely would not recommend against.
What bugs me the most about Ford is that their interiors are so disjointed. So much black/charcoal in an otherwise "color optioned" interior. The package shelf, door panels, carpets, etc. are all black/charcoal regardless of the interior. It's like they said, "Hey, let's put some different colored seats and some door inserts and call that the "interior" . . . Job half done guys. I get the black upper dash to reduce reflections but not the rest of the black/charcoal. I ordered the stone leather but there's going to be a ton of black/charcoal in there too.
100%

The saddle interior is a perfect combination of saddle and black and charcoal and silver. Have you ever seen "saddle" plastic? If you have, you'd wish you hadn't. High quality saddle carpet might be nice, but not the 99¢ a yard stuff that Ford and most other auto makers use these days.
Job well done, Ford.
