Last week I ordered a 2012 GT. I was told that Red Candy is no longer available. Is this a fact?

 

Not at last check. It is true that mid-model year Red Candy was reformulated and released with a new paint code. Old was U6, new is RZ.

 

jaybertx is correct. the color code changed around the time i placed my red candy order in august.

My name is Deysha from Ford Customer Service. jaybertx is correct. The old Red Candy (U6) was replaced with the new Red Candy (RZ) and you should be able to order it now. You can contact your dealer and see if they can change it before your order schedules to build. Also, please PM me with your dealer’s name and order number and I can track it for you.

They had to reformulate due to the earthquake/tsunami in Japan affecting some paint supplies. I haven't seen a new one next to an old one in person to be able to tell you.

 

wish i could have gotten this color on the 2012 GT/CS i bought. race red is nice but i like the metallic better. no offense race red fans.... im still a "red" guy.
