Rear View Mirror - LOL Ford

Honestly just noticed that the rear view mirror in the Mustang is really low; I find I have to look around it sometimes. Once it's time to replace my windshield, I'm going to mount the mirror as high as I can. Not a big deal, just a head-scratcher.

So you can't just grab the mirror and angle the mount point 'higher' so the the mirror itself is higher from your POV in the driver's seat? Sorry if this seems too obvious but it was one of the first things I did when I got my Mustang.

I'm almost 6'1 and it has never bothered me. I also have a 3" cowl hood obstructing my view from below.

Haha, like driving a tank, then. I'm 6'2 and most of that is torso.

No, no. Nothing is ever obvious with me. What do you mean by, "angle the mount point higher"?

I had also noticed that the mirror was mounted a bit low and had never noticed the adjustment you mention here. I just went out to my 2014 and there is a piece about 2" long that mounts on a ball on the bit that is glued to the windshield. I was able to take hold of that piece and move it up as far as it would go, then readjust the mirror. MUCH better. Thanks for the tip, and Frank, thanks for bringing this up. That will also make it easier to see over the convertible top when it is down.

There are two joints, one at each end of the arm, on most windshield mirror mounts. The joint at the base is either a ball or hinge, which swings the arm up and down, and the joint at the mirror is a ball, which allows you to aim.

Pivot the arm up at the base to raise the mirror.
