Looks like the one that comes from the factory with the 401a premium interior.

Yep that ones from ford I've always liked it as well but don't think it will be suitable for living in desert or any hot climate for that matter

The billet **** is too hot in the summer a too cold in the winter. I bought the Boss 302 **** to replace it and am now much happier.

The **** is annoying. On a cold day? FREEZING. On a hot day? 2nd degree burns to your palm. Pretty sure I have the shift pattern burned into my palm permanently.

I switched last summer to a Speed Dawg shift ****. Much better, and I prefer that it seems to have more direct feel to it.

I place a rag on it when I drive it in the summer here in az. Seems to not be so hot when I do this.

I always brought a dish cloth out with me when I was living in Arizona in my old Pontiac cause as a 17 year old I wasn't gonna spend money on a window visor :P

2001 Bullitt + 2003 Mach 1 owners complain about the same thing:

Have the Boss 302 **** and prefer the OEM fit and finish.

I have not had any trouble with mine, but imagine that it might be different if I lived in a hot and sunny climate like tx, fl, or az. For cold, I don't see the issue - same as the wheel or seats. It warms up as fast as the cabin.

I have that shifter in my 401a interior GT also. I'm thinking about asking my wife to sew me a little velvet cover with a drawstring. That would make it much cooler in the summer. I should have her make it out of pink velvet and then a matching set of fuzzy dice to hang from the rearview mirror. LOL! Lost in the 50s again.
