quick wax question on black

I put a coat of the nxt tech wax 2.0 on my black gt and was not real happy. it seamed to streak some but I may not have let it dry enough. Anyway, I ordered some of the adams buttery wax and was wondering if I need to remove the tech wax before applying the buttery wax and if so what should I use to do that.

Thanks

Megs NXT is great wax...you need to let it cure....sounds like you tried to take it off to fast.

I was reading that it's a good idea to let the factory paint "cure" before applying wax, and that I should hold off for awhile (car built in June). Any truth to this?

Sorry semi off-topic but not worthy of its own thread.

I was not saying it was a bad wax just that I was not happy with it and the adams gets great reviews and it sounds like it's very easy to use. I am just wondering if I need to remove the nxt first or if I can just go over it with the adams.

Like i said megs nxt has to cure...maybe you wiped it to early and introduced streaking to the paint...if you clayed thats a good start.....you should go to autogeek.net and read up on how to do a proper job....Not trying to be hard on you but your paint will be happy and so will you...try to learn by reading the forums over there

got the adams already ordered so I am going to at least give it a try. I probably did remove the nxt too soon. I don't plan to polish right away but maybe in a few months. So back to the question. Is it ok to just go over the nxt with the adams if not how should I remove it? I know people say dawn will work to remove but is it a good thing to use?

Really not a fan of nxt 2.0, I liked the original better.

It didn't work well on my black car either. I've since moved on to some others.

Needs to cure/dry before removal and then it's great wax. Be patient Grasshopper.

If you want to change waxes: Clay bar the car after a wash and go for it.

Not True.
Factory paint is cured already.
Stop reading so much BS.
Paint shop paint usually needs time to cure.

Ive been using NXT 2.0 and found that it works best if you let it dry for a while before trying to remove it. Also - make sure your car is really cool - I try to do my cars in the garage now - first thing in the moring before the sun even comes up.

Works Great.

For a black or Kona blue or other dark color car, I'd use only Zaino #5 (zainobros.com).
