Anyone know how to specifically get (or not get) the chrome trim around the front grille on a V6? I see them with and without the trim but have yet to find a way to change my preference in an order. Pics below..first one has no chrome trim, second one has it.





Secondly, the small lower fog lights. They come standard with the MCA Package, but what if you don't want the MCA? Do they come standard with any other packages for the V6?

Never sen one with chrome around the grill.

Fogs come with the pony package too I believe but you can't get them as a stand alone option.

 

Pretty much every V6 I see has the chrome trim when I'm pic hunting.

Here's another that looks to be just PP but they have the chrome trim AND the fog lights.

 

A mystery that will never be solved? Perhaps.

 

Is that part of the Pony package?

 

The Pony Package has the corralled Mustang...pic below. Definitely doesn't match. Kinda odd...

 

Again, you can go to the video below. Press "2" on your keyboard to get to around the 39 second mark. At 42 seconds, they show video of the V6. Sure enough, it is a V6 Premium with the PP...no MCA...no Pony Package, and it has the chrome bordered grille as well as the fog lights. Incomprehensible to me...

 

There are three different grills that are offered on the V6 for 2013.
1. the standard grill is a honey combe with bright surround
2. the pony edition grill is a honey combe with center chrome bar and coral around the pony.
3. the MCA is a billit style upper and lower with the tribar and ponymounter on the drivers side.

The grill you are asking about is the standard grill .

 

I agree the grill you speak of is the standard grill. Fog lights come with the Pony Package and the MCA Version.

 

all v6 grilles have the chrome, that aren't pny pkg or mca, there's no such thing as all black anymore like '05-'12, it's typical that pics on their website are wrong

also you can get the fog lights on the base v6, they're included in the Tech-package

 

I appreciate the explanation and the help. I had a feeling the Ford website was misrepresenting the grille, but I wanted someone else to say it first.

Addition: Basically, you can't get the LED fog lamps on a V6 Premium without getting the MCA or Pony. However, if you go with the Standard V6, the fog lamps are an option with the Tech Package, which doesn't change anything else on the exterior aside from the fog lamps being there. I had always been doing the V6 Premium build, which explains why I never saw this option. It's a shame it is not offered at a smaller price with the V6 Premium builds (as numerous features in the Tech Package are already included in a Premium model, save the fog lamps) for those who do not want the MCA or Pony packages...

 

^ yeah that is strange.. you could get fogs on the base but not the premium

 

So that's why I did not see them as well.

 

And for $399.00, you can add the fogs yourself. I bought the kit (cheaper than this price) and installed them on my 2011. Gained the auto headlight feature as well.

Could it have been a car sourced from Canada you saw pics of? Here all Premiums come with fogs, PP optional with them too.

 

Some were Canadian, some were definitely US. I think it came down to picking the Standard V6 w/ Performance Package AND Tech Package.

I feel as if this is somewhat of a disappointment for us Premium V6 owners who don't want MCA or Pony. Hopefully they'll have a fix in future models.

 

Our Pony/MCA packages are entirely different than yours, and much more expensive. We're not getting anything unique though, things are just grouped differently. I like the way your options are arranged better...the grass is always greener!

BTW, I have never noticed that "lump" (somebody called it a sat antenna, we have that sevice of course, but we *don't* have HD radio here, so could it be for that too/instead?) on the spoiler of the Canadian V6s. It could be there, and I did screw around the trunk of that GB PP V6 I drove the other week, so I should have noticed... Plus that spoiler delete is an option here, you wouldn't think it would be if that lump needed to be there e.g. like the camera. That is one thing I was doing around the trunk, considering the spoiler delete, and I surely would have considered the loss of the "lump" if it had been there. Our Pony/MCA pkgs. do include sat radio, so a sat ant. *is* there, just not that lump .
