Talking Quick shots and 1st drive impressions

Yesterday was a great day. I was so excited to take delivery that I immediately cruised to the Isle and took these shots with the android. Will take more pics with my digital after the modding has commenced.

Waited a month for my dealer to get one in inventory that wasn't fully loaded. No sync, brembos, leather or manual and you know what? I f*cking love it. Acceleration is instantaneous, linear and most importanly, RAPID... It's so quick that I haven't had to press the t/c button. Handling is wonderful and a definite improvement from the last gen. Ride quality is as good as you could ask for it to be in this price range. Went from an '08 gt premium w/5 speed and I was concerned about downgrading to a lesser interior but I have no complaints other than the stock audio which is promptly being replaced w/aftermarket sounds. Auto trans is spectacular. I would imagine this car in manual form is simply FEROCIOUS.

I'll miss the complete control the manual provides but this is a perfect daily driver for me and it's an absolute pleasure to drive. I'll post more driving impressions this weekend. 300 miles into the break-in process in one day.

Bye-bye Vista Blue, you were a phenomenal ride in your own right and rock solid in terms of performance & reliability. Great car.

thanks man, i'm on cloud nine right now. I've been glued to this forum for over a month drooling over all the news and user reviews. I can't believe it's actually in my driveway, the reality hasn't set in yet haha.

yeah, audio guy for sure. the base GT had the slots in the door panels for the 8" subs removed entirely so I'm going to have to work around that plus figure out the right solution for a head unit. Fun problems to have though.

But no lowering yet. I have new roush struts that I never installed on the last GT, I wonder if they'll work on this car? Plan to get it tuned @ livernois or alternative audio after 4th of July weekend.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Thanks man! Definitely a thrill to have a black car again. Would have liked Kona Blue but I can't complain.

Awesome. I'd see how much a set of the Premium door panels would be with the 8" enclosures, that is if you're going to go 3-way up front with 8 inchers...

If I got a base car that is the route I'd take. Search the forum for audio threads. There's a few on here that I've chimed in on. There are a couple of companies that make new dash panels that house double din navis and keep the factory climate controls. No one here has tried one yet though. If I got a base car, I go that route, get the door panels and start cutting! I'd do Pioneer AVIC-Z120BT, Audison Bit One, Audison LRx4.1k (x2), Focal K2 5.25 components with the mids in kickpanels and tweeters on the A-pillars, then 2 12" Focal K2 13" IB subs off the rear deck. Mmmm...but I get audio at dealer cost so I wouldn't blink twice about it.

You could easily do a nice 2-way set up with 6.5-7s in the doors and a tweeter that plays a little lower...like my Vifa XT25s in my current cat.

You have some good ideas. A good front sound stage plus a quality 12" sub install in the trunk is the plan for right now. I have a set of 8" vifa drivers for the doors so I'm thinking of having those installed along with a set of rainbow germanium components. I'll most likely be going with a FH-P800BT for the head unit.

Sounds good. What are you using for processing/amps? I ran the Rainbow CAL25s for a bit too. Ever since going to a DIYMA meet I've been stuck on doing an IB install. I have a pair of custom made IB subs with the baskets painted Laser Red, that will eventually go into my current car, once I get it back on the road. I'm going to stay 2-way on the SN95 though. Too much work to get 8s in the doors the way they are now. I'm running the XT25s, Peerless HDS 7s and some older Phoenix Gold 12 off my Audison 5.1k and Alpine 9835. I have a Bit One laying around, but haven't gotten around to putting it in yet. Don't really need it for my simple setup now.

If you do the 8s are you going to get a set of the Premium door panels? Talk to 05stangKC on here to see what the cost would be...
